- Iftikhar revealed the story behind his popular name ‘Chacha-e-Cricket’ in an interview and said that after taking 5 wickets in ODIs for the first time in 2020 against Zimbabwe, he asked Baba Azam changed field positions while bowling Brendan Taylor; however, Babar did not do so. After repeated pleas, Babar changed the field and Iftikhar dismissed Taylor by allowing him to be caught by the same fielder. Babar jokingly called him Chacha-e-cricket, a name that quickly went viral and became his popular name. He joked that even his own son called him that name. He is also known as Ifti Chacha.
