IIT Kharagpur 4-year Integrated BSc-BEd Admission Course 2023: Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur has started counseling for admission to the 4-year Integrated BSc-BEd (Secondary Stage) course under the Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP). As per announced dates, 2nd select list for 4 year integrated BSc-BEd course will be released today. Candidates can check the list on the official websites: iitkgp.ac.in and erp.iitkgp.ac.in.
The program was introduced as advised by the Ministry of Education in line with the NEP 2020. The total number of seats available at IIT Kharagpur is 50, spread across four disciplines. The four-year integrated double major comes with one major in education and another in any of the following four disciplines: physics, chemistry, mathematics and economics.

Dual Major undergraduate study together with BEd
In this four-year integrated program, students will have a two-subject undergraduate degree in a specific discipline along with a BEd. The BSc-BEd program is credit-based and offers the flexibility to progress at your own pace. It is a new addition to the ever-growing vision of inclusive vocational and needs-based education. Those who join this program will specialize in secondary level education, which will qualify them to become teachers at that level.
Two IITs and four NITs offering integrated 4-year BEd courses
IIT Kharagpur, IIT Bhubaneswar, NIT Agartala, NIT Calicut, NIT Warangal and NIT Puducherry are among the 42 higher education institutions that will start offering BEd courses this year. The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) introduced the Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP) to enable students who complete 12th grade to earn a BA-BEd or BSc-BEd or BCom-BEd after four years.
