I’m A Celebrity crew on ‘high alert’ as big name campmate looks ready to quit just hours into series

FEARS grew yesterday that Britney Spears’ sister Jamie Lynn could quit I’m A Celebrity after a rocky start.

The actress was said to be “miserable” at the camp after two wild attempts to get in – skydiving and ordealing with a stuffed creature called the Temple of Doom.

After going through both, Jamie Lynn, 32, isolated herself at the camp on Saturday and even stayed in bed yesterday morning, a source told The Sun.

The ITV show’s crew have been monitoring the Zoey 101 star’s behavior and are now worried she is a “flight risk”.

A source said: “Applications for I’m A Celebrity are notoriously difficult and Jamie wasn’t the only one to struggle with the challenges.

“But away from the cameras and TV scenes, her behavior in the camp became apparent to the team.

“She kept herself somewhat aloof, she didn’t really socialize – and she stayed in bed.

“She seemed to miss her family a lot and, of course, unlike other celebrities, who are all from the UK and mostly know each other or know each other, Jamie Lynn didn’t have those immediate connections.”

Campmates must stay in the jungle for 72 hours to get their full pay – a rule that came to light after Gemma Collins’ exit from the show in 2014.

The then Towie star revealed she didn’t get her entire fee and ended up donating what she got to charity.

At the time, her rep said: “I can confirm that the £4,800 fee was the full and final fee Gemma received for her participation on last year’s I’m A Celebrity.”

Jamie Lynn — the younger sister of Baby One More Time singer Britney, 41 — is in form for an early exit after leaving the US version of SAS: Who Dares Wins two days later.

Leaving the show called Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test earlier this year after just 48 hours, Jamie Lynn confided in Mel B, who also took part.

She told the Spice Girls singer: “Like, I can’t do one more night. I can’t do that.”

She also said she didn’t want to be a “crappy mum” to daughters Maddie, 15, and five-year-old Ivey.

She added: “I miss my children when I’m away from them for a few hours. So this is a very big leap for me. Not only do I love them and want to be with them, but being this far away from them, even if it’s something for me, makes me feel like a crappy mom.

“They didn’t ask for their mom to leave. My babies.”

Recently, Jamie Lynn made a quick exit from Dancing with the Stars — America’s version of Strictly Come Dancing — when she was kicked out in week two.

During introductory interviews on I’m A Celeb, Jamie Lynn — who appeared in the recent Netflix hit Sweet Magnolias — hinted that the Sag-Aftra American Actors’ Union strikes have left her thinking about work she wouldn’t otherwise do.

She said: “I think it’s way out of my comfort zone, and this year with Sag on strike, I’ve said yes to a lot of unscripted projects.”

But she added: “I really enjoy throwing myself into these experiences.

“When they approached me, the first thing I had to do was talk it over with my family and kids to make sure they were okay with me being away for this long.

“When I got the all-clear from everybody, I said, ‘Yeah, let’s go.'”

In last night’s incredible opening episode, viewers saw Jamie Lynn take part in a skydive alongside Hollyoaks star Nick Pickard, 48, and JLS singer Marvin Humes, 38.

Grimacing at the task, Jamie joked, “What’s the worst that can happen? Just kidding, a lot of really bad things could happen.”

Later in the camp, Jamie Lynn said after meeting her fellow contestants: “They’ve all made a wonderful impression on me so far. I’m the only American here.

“Everyone was very kind and nice. I’m really impressed. Maybe I’m really naive.”

And Jamie Lynn could be in for more trouble if she faces the water.

On the US Special Forces show, she revealed that she is now struggling in the water after having to dive into a lake to save her daughter from drowning.

Speaking before entering the Australian jungle, she added: “Everything you just mentioned — snakes, rats, heights — I’m afraid of. I am absolutely terrified of all these things.

“I was afraid of everything I saw. I fear absolutely every one of these temptations.

“This is going to be scary.

“But this is an opportunity for me to be myself and do something really cool and have some great experiences in the meantime.”
