DEAR DEIDRE: I WAS LOADING logs for my dad’s fire when my stepmother said I could take a break. We had a beer in their greenhouse, then a few more, and then had sex in the kitchen. It was crazy.
She is 36 and I am 23. Dad is very young at heart at 50 years old.
Mom and Dad divorced when I was little. Dad has been single for years, so when he texted me that he met someone, I was beside myself.
As soon as I met her, I liked her. She’s pretty and fun – Dad hasn’t looked this happy in years.
Then, since I was studying at a university close to where they live, I stayed with them a few times during the holidays.
It was great because their house is huge and I had my own bedroom, bathroom and separate entrance. So when they suggested I move in to save on rent, I was more than happy.
Dad regularly works away, and my stepmother works from home. Last month I stopped working on my assignments and thought I’d help my dad out by splitting some logs. It was a way of paying for my life.
My stepmother came out with a few beers and after half an hour we were both feeling tired.
She walked back towards the kitchen and tripped over my foot. I went to grab her hand and she landed on top of me. She was smiling a lot. Then she kissed me.
I caught myself in the moment, we continued kissing and started to undress. The sex was out of this world.
I still live with them. Me and my stepmom have sex when dad is away.
If he does find out, our fun will be over.
DEIDRE SAYS: That’s not the only thing that will be over – his marriage, his happiness, let alone his relationship with you, are all at risk. This is not just up to you.
She may not be the ideal woman, but let him discover that for himself. It would be a double whammy to know that his wife and son were doing the dirty work for him.
Move out of their home and return to the shared part of the house. It pays to spend money to save your family from the rain.
Tell your stepmother’s lover that you can’t do this to your father.
Get out with your university friends while you can and find a girl who is open to you.
