Imagine Dragons rocker Dan Reynolds is a “believer” when it comes to love!
Only after the release of his band’s latest album Loomthe musician opens up to PEOPLE in this week’s edition about his relationship with girlfriend Minka Kelly, with whom he has been linked since 2022.
Reynolds, 36, and Kelly, 44, initially met through a mutual friend, and sparks quickly flew over the phone as Reynolds shared songs with the actress, and she returned the favor by sharing rough drafts of her 2023 memoir. Tell me everything.
“After about a month, we met in person and have been in a relationship ever since,” he says. “Minka and I are in a really happy, healthy relationship.”
The “Eyes Closed” singer credits “really great therapists” for their success as a couple, especially after he split from ex-wife Aja Volkman in 2022, with whom he shares daughter Arrow, 11, twins Gia and Coco, 7, and son Valentina. 4.

Still, he says Kelly has fit in seamlessly with the family — and his kids are definitely fans Euphoria actress.
“The children love Minka very much and they love their mother very much, and that’s fine. We look at it as a kind of bonus for the family: more people to love, more people to help,” he says. “We were just very careful with it and slow to navigate how to include Minka in that conversation. She did a really amazing job of being sensitive and attentive as well.”
The past few years have been full of change for Reynolds, and the star says he has a new Imagine Dragons album Loom are essentially his “diaries” from the past few years, chronicling everything from his divorce to his big move from Las Vegas to Los Angeles.

“My world was turned upside down,” he says. “I just moved to a brand new city. I found myself again. It was a very transitional time for me. I really don’t like change, but the sooner you can accept the inevitability of change, the more peaceful life becomes.”
Reynolds is currently gearing up for Imagine Dragons’ opening night on Tuesday, July 30 Loom The world tour, which marks the band’s largest North American tour to date since their inception in 2008.
“I think this will be our best record that we will play live. There is a lot of pace, a lot of different emotions,” he says. “We’re already in rehearsals for this tour, and I just know — we’ve been doing this long enough that I was like, ‘Oh, this is going to be fun, but it’s also going to be cathartic.’
Reynolds concluded, “It’s going to be sad in the right way, heavy in the right way, happy in the right way. It’s going to be a really fun record to tour.”
