Profession
In 1983, she founded the Women’s Wing of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry and served as its president. In 1999, she became the chairperson of the Bharatiya Jnanpith Trust, which was founded in 1944 by Sahu Shanti Prasad Jain (her father-in-law) to promote Indian languages and literature. In 2002, she founded the Times Foundation, which is dedicated to various community services, operates a research foundation, and manages relief funds. To promote world unity, she helped launch the Oneness Forum in 2003. Until her death in 2021, she served as chairperson of the Times Group.
