Inside King Charles’ cancer care plan as royal expert explains why he couldn’t see Harry for longer than 30 minutes

KING Charles only saw Prince Harry for 30 minutes to reduce his stress levels, a royal expert has revealed.

Writer and TV presenter Robert Jobson exclusively told The Sun’s royal editor Matt Wilkinson how aides plan to help with the King’s recovery.

The monarch, 75, met Prince Harry for just 30 minutes on Tuesday after making a mad dash from California to Clarence House.

Any extended meeting would only end in delving into stressful topics that would prevent the king’s recovery, Robert added.

He said: “You don’t want his blood pressure to go up. The king is not very well, whatever the type of cancer is, he is being treated.”

He added that the monarch will need peace to recover and may soon leave Sandringham to stay at the quieter Wood Farm.

The best thing for him is calmness, he said.

“After the first kiss and hug, I love you dad, I hope you get better soon, what questions will be raised? Things that will raise your blood pressure.”

Second in Robert Jobson’s bombshell revelations:

  • Prince Harry’s transatlantic dash has people fearing Charles’ condition is even worse and ‘stirring the royal pot’
  • Camilla could be the reason Prince Harry only got 30 minutes with Charles
  • King Charles will never abdicate and there is a historical reason why he will not step down
  • Prince Harry and William are men, not Diana’s boyfriends – Wills is doing his duty and now his brother must too
  • Prince Harry must realize he has to apologize to William and King Charles… but Robert doubts he will

How Charles bravely disclosed his diagnosis to help others

KING Charles has bravely broken royal protocol by sharing his cancer diagnosis.

The senior royals have been tight-lipped about their health battles in the past.

The last senior member of the royal family to be diagnosed with cancer was Charles’ grandfather George VI.

A heavy smoker, George had his left lung removed in September 1951 due to “structural abnormalities”, a few months before his death.

The “abnormalities” were actually life-threatening cancers, but the public never learned of George’s ordeal with cancer.

Buckingham Palace said Charles wanted to share his cancer diagnosis to encourage “public understanding” for cancer sufferers around the world.

After meeting Harry, the king flew to Sandringham and was pictured smiling as he arrived at church on Sunday morning – part of his usual weekly routine.

But now he can move to Wood Farm, argued Robert.

Prince Philip often stayed at Wood Farm, the country house on the estate, after he retired from royal duties in 2017.

Robert said: “I think he will stay at Sandringham House until it is closed and maybe go to Wood Farm.

“When the late Queen was very ill, she went to Wood Farm. Prince Philip also lived there after his retirement.

“It’s a very relaxing place and he can be there with just a few servants and really relax.”

In his first public statement to acknowledge the welfare of the nation, Charles expressed his “sincere gratitude” for the kind messages he had received.

The monarch flew by helicopter from Buckingham Palace to Sandringham on Tuesday after meeting her son face-to-face for the first time in 16 months.

Harry, meanwhile, stayed in a London hotel and returned to London Heathrow to return to his family by 1.30pm on Wednesday – making his visit just 26 hours long.

Charles spent three nights in a London clinic being treated for an “enlarged prostate”.

But on Monday, Buckingham Palace confirmed that the king had been diagnosed with a form of cancer.

King Charles will never abdicate – there is a historical reason why

RETREAT AT THE WOOD FARM

The king is expected to undergo further cancer treatment in London this month.

The palace has yet to set a date for his return to his first duties.

It has not been revealed exactly what type of cancer the King has, nor what treatment he will receive.

Prince Harry’s tense visits to Britain after Megxit

Some previously feared that relations between Charles and Harry would be damaged beyond repair amid the fallout over their royal feud.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told The Sun in December: “Charles and Harry’s relationship was at an all-time low before, but this may have broken it beyond repair.

“It could be game over for them.”

Hopes of a reconciliation were raised after Harry called Charles last month to wish him a happy 75th birthday and sent a video of the king’s grandchildren Archie, now four, and Lilibet, two, who live in the US.

And now Harry is back from the UK after his first face-to-face meeting with Charles in 16 months.

Here’s a look at their fractured post-Megxit relationship.

January 2020 – Harry and Meghan board a ‘Megxit’ flight, heading to Canada, to finally settle home in California, USA.

March 2021 – Harry and Meghan give their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in which Harry accuses his father of limiting him financially.

July 2021 Harry returns to the UK to join William in unveiling a statue of their mother Princess Diana in the grounds of Kensington Palace.

But sources claimed William did not want to attend the memorial service amid their ongoing rift.

Pals said at the time: “William was still furious. He thought he would only give so much. He just didn’t want to go there [with Harry].”

September 2022 – Harry flies to the UK for Prince Philip’s funeral. Meghan Markle, who was heavily pregnant at the time, was unable to attend as her doctor ordered her not to fly.

A friend of Harry’s tells Omid Scobie that Harry has met the Queen privately ‘at least twice’ and spoke to Charles and William after the service at Westminster Abbey.

Kate acts as a “peacemaker” between William and Harry as they share a private conversation.

September 2022 – The Duke claimed he learned Queen Elizabeth had died from online news.

He flew to Balmoral without Meghan and claimed to Spare that Charles had told her she couldn’t go.

Harry traveled on a special flight to join his brother William – who was traveling with the rest of the family.

The Duke wrote in his memoirs: “As the plane started to descend I saw my phone light up. It was a message from Meg: ‘Call me when you get this.’ I looked at the BBC website. My grandmother died. My father was a king.”

Harry and Meghan sat behind Charles at Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral at Westminster Abbey.

March 2023 – Harry is told King Charles is “too busy” to see him while in the UK for a privacy hearing, according to reports.

The Duke flew to the UK to attend a four-day preliminary hearing at London’s High Court in his battle with publisher Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL) over allegations of illegal information gathering.

It was the first time the prince had returned to home soil since the Queen’s funeral.

Harry flew back to the US after the hearing was over.

April 2023 – Harry had a “heart-to-heart” with his dad before agreeing to attend the coronation in London

The Duke traveled alone to attend the ceremony on May 6.

Harry immediately returned to the US after his coronation at Westminster Abbey.

He did not appear to speak to his brother William or sister-in-law Kate Middleton at the ceremony – he took a back seat and sat in the third row at the ceremony.

September 2023 – Prince Harry visits the UK for the annual WellChild Awards, a charity he has patronized for 15 years.

But the duke is not thought to have met his father, as the king “had no time” in his diary to see his son, it was reported.

January 2024 – Harry flies to be with Charles following the monarch’s shock cancer diagnosis.

The two have their first meeting in more than 16 months at Clarence House, which lasts half an hour.

Harry doesn’t meet William and flies back to the US the next day.

But he will be comfortable and has stepped down from public duties while he receives treatment.

He is still expected to continue receiving red boxes and government documents during treatment.

And he will continue to meet with the prime minister in a weekly audience.

The king continues to perform all constitutional roles and spoke to Rishi Sunak on the phone on Wednesday.

He is due to meet the prime minister again in person on February 21, resuming their weekly audiences.

But The Sun on Sunday understands his planned royal tour of Canada in the spring with the Queen will be canceled and rescheduled for when he is better.

There are also fresh doubts about his planned visit to Australia and Samoa in the autumn, with insiders saying it is “highly unlikely” the long trip will go ahead as planned.

Palace sources insist they are still preparing the tour and it is “too early” to rule it out.

CAMILLA RIFT

Elsewhere, Robert claimed that the rift between Harry and Queen Camilla could be the reason why the Duke’s meeting with Charles was so short.

Robert explained, “The Queen was with the King.

“Let’s be honest – he wasn’t too complimentary about Queen Camilla in his Spare book.

“He wasn’t very complimentary to her on Netflix. They don’t get along.

He added that the absence of a relationship between father and son meant that any encounter would be tense.

“Secondly, there wasn’t a lot of contact,” he said.

“It brings its own level of complexity and drama that it doesn’t need right now.

“The royals keep a nice military watch. You have to get a helicopter pilot over there, all that stuff.

“So his plans had to be changed. The only thing a king doesn’t like is changing his plans.

– He gave him enough time for a kiss and a hug and wished him the best.

King Charles has described the public outpouring of support for him following his cancer diagnosis as “the greatest comfort and encouragement”.

In his first public statement to acknowledge the welfare of the nation, Charles expressed his “sincere gratitude” for the kind messages he had received.

He said: “As all those who have been affected by cancer know, such good thoughts are the greatest comfort and encouragement.”

And in a message, written from Sandringham, he added that it was “equally encouraging” that sharing his diagnosis had “shined light” on the great work being done by cancer charities.

He said: “My lifelong admiration for their tireless care and commitment is all the greater as a result of my personal experience.”

The king is expected to recuperate at Windsor Castle, Highgrove and Sandringham over the coming weeks and months.
