The brothers, whose debut album Definitely Maybe turned 30 this week, are set for a £400million comeback tour next summer.

A source said: “This reunion will go down in music history.”

Liam sparked the band’s reunion frenzy by tweeting: “Never liked the word ex.”

His heavy-handed hint that the rock band is reuniting came after he buried the hatchet with brother Noel following a 15-year feud.

The Sun can reveal they decided to launch the £400m comeback during a series of phone calls.

Huge live concerts across the UK next year are set to be announced this week.

A source said: “Noel and Liam will never be best friends but they want to bring Oasis back for the fans.

“They are not getting any younger, and the demand is huge. They decided now or never.

“Noel dug his heels in for a long time, but finally gave in and agreed to come back.

“He spoke to Liam on the phone and they are on the same page.

“They know this reunion will go down in music history.”

The Oasis legend is undergoing surgery after a serious health problem

Music industry expert Professor Jonathan Shalit OBE, chairman of talent agency InterTalent, told The Sun the reunion could easily earn more than £400m.

He said: “With tickets, sponsorship, merchandise and recording, I would predict an income for Noel and Liam of over £50m each.

“This is a tour that could easily make more than £400m.”

Liam, who headlined Reading Festival last night, added to the excitement yesterday when he told his 3.6 million X followers: “I’ve never liked the word ex.”

Speculation began to swirl on Friday when Liam, 51, quickly deleted a post about his brother Noel, 57, saying: “Let’s not fight before it even starts.”

No other original Oasis member is expected to join the reunion.

In their place, members of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will join the concerts.

It is understood that senior bosses at top UK ticketing companies have signed non-disclosure agreements to prevent news of the concerts from leaking out.

The staff member also claimed leave was off limits for the next few weeks due to anticipated demand for tickets.

London’s Wembley Stadium and Heaton Park in the Gallaghers’ hometown of Manchester were rumored to be built.

Glasgow and Cardiff could also host concerts.

If the tour is successful, it could be extended to European and American cities.

Glastonbury Festival bosses have also told the band that they are headlining next summer’s event.

Industry insiders think the success of Taylor Swift’s multi-billion pound Eras tour has encouraged other artists to follow suit.

A source said: “Taylor Swift has shown how much you can make from these tours and others are thinking, ‘I want a piece of it.’

Tickets for Oasis are expected to start from around £130.

A music insider explained: “The demand for these concerts will be like nothing anyone has seen before.

“Ticket websites are gearing up because they know millions will be desperate to secure a chance to see Oasis.

“People in the UK and around the world have been waiting for this opportunity for years.”

HOW LONG CAN IT TAKE?

By Joanna Kavanagh

Noel and Liam’s feud has been going on for 30 years and is one of the most famous in music. Here’s the summary.

September 1994: Noel temporarily quits after Liam throws a tambourine at him.

Summer 1995: While filming (What’s The Story) Morning Glory, Noel allegedly hit Liam over the head with a cricket bat.

August 1996: Liam pulls out of an MTV Unplugged performance, berating his soloing brother from the audience.

May 2000: After Liam questions the legitimacy of Noel’s daughter Anais, he quits again. He returned but did not finish their European tour.

June 2005: At the Heineken Jammin’ Festival in Italy, Liam leaves the stage during Champagne Supernova. Noel told Spin magazine: “He’s actually scared to death of me.”

April 2009: Noel calls Liam “the angriest man you’ll ever meet” in Q mag, adding: “He’s like a man with a fork in the soup world”.

August 2009: Oasis pulls out of the ‘V’ festival at the last minute. Liam reportedly had laryngitis, but Noel claims he’s “hungover”.

Late August 2009: As the band prepares to play in Paris, an argument breaks out and, as we reported, Liam wields Noel’s guitar “like an axe”. The tour was cancelled. Noel declares: “It is with some sadness and great relief that I have to tell you that I have left Oasis.”

June 2017: After the Manchester terror attack, Liam accuses Noel of not turning up to the Old Trafford tribute. Noel’s camp says he was out of the country.

Bookmaker Coral has suspended all betting on an Oasis reunion after Liam pranked fans online.

When someone responded to an article about a rumored venue by saying “Heaton Park [is] awful,” Liam stated, “See you down at the front, big f—ing.”

Their reconciliation will come as a shock to fans after years of feuding and mocking remarks.

But The Sun understands the brothers are on better terms than they have been for decades.

Noel raised eyebrows last week with a rare praise for Liam in an interview ahead of this week’s 30th anniversary of his 1994 debut album Definitely Maybe.

He said: “I can’t sing Slide Away and Cigarettes & Alcohol and Rock ‘n’ Roll Star and Columbia.

“I can do that, but it’s not the same.

“It’s the delivery or the tone of his voice and the attitude.

“I don’t have the same attitude as him.”

Comparing their voices to their drinks, he continued: “Liam’s is a shot of tequila, right, and mine is half a Guinness. Mine is half Guinness on Tuesdays. it’s okay

“Liam’s is ten shots of tequila on a Friday night.”

He added: “If I sang a song it would sound good, if he sang it it would sound great.”

Oasis will officially announce the news of the reunion in the coming days, and Wednesday will mark 15 years since Noel left the band.

Their last concert together was the V Festival in Weston Park, Staffordshire, in August 2009.

A few days later, the band canceled their headline show at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris shortly before they were due to perform, following an argument backstage.

Noel explained: “It is with some sadness and great relief that I have to tell you that I have left Oasis tonight.

“People will write and say what they want, but I just couldn’t work with Liam for a day longer.”

Liam and Noel’s reconciliation will no doubt please their mother Peggy, who said in 2011: “I want my sons to work it out.”

Brother’s reconciliation

Liam formed the band in Manchester in 1991 with guitarist Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs, bassist Paul “Guigsy” McGuigan and drummer Tony McCarroll.

He later asked Inspiral Carpets roadie Noel to complete the lineup.

They signed to Creation Records in 1993 and released their debut album Definitely Maybe in 1994.

It quickly became the fastest-selling debut album in UK history, selling 8.5 million copies worldwide.

Sequel, 1995 (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? has sales of more than 17.5 million.

In total, Oasis recorded eight number 1 albums and topped the singles chart eight times with hits including Don’t Look Back In Anger, Lyla and Some Might Say.

The group is still adored by millions of young fans who weren’t even born in their heyday.

They have 21.6 million monthly listeners on Spotify — almost double that of Britpop rivals Blur.

Noel and Liam have also proved popular as solo acts, with Liam headlining this weekend’s Reading and Leeds festivals.

Demand for their return is expected to surpass even their two appearances at Knebworth in 1996, when 2.5 million applied for tickets.

Apart from Liam and Noel, none of their original bandmates are expected to be part of the reunion.

But Gem Archer, who has played rhythm guitar with Oasis since 1999, is set to join alongside drummer Chris Sharrock – with the group in 2008 and 2009.

Both remained close to Noel and performed with his High Flying Birds for several years.

They were also in Liam’s Beady Eye.

Another music insider said: “Noel wants the reunion to be with his band High Flying Birds.

“Over the years there have been disagreements with various people who have performed with Oasis.

“But Noel really appreciates the musicians he’s playing with now and that was part of the deal when it came to agreeing to come back.”

A falling out with original drummer Tony McCarroll and his replacement Alan White means they are unlikely to be included.

Noel stopped talking to bassist Andy Bell after he left the group.

But relations have since thawed and his group Ride supported Noel at a show in Taunton last summer.

Liam held a 12-date Definitely Maybe anniversary tour in June and admitted earlier this year that Noel had turned down an offer to join him.

The Oases have been approached for comment.
