International hunt for one of Canada’s most wanted men ends – at four-storey block of flats in British town

The international search for one of Canada’s most wanted men has ended — in a four-story apartment building in Luton.

Adrian Gordon (24) went on the run after killing champion bodybuilder Jesse Tubbs (30) in May.

The victim was found with gunshot wounds at a drug hotspot in Toronto and died of his injuries in hospital.

Gordon fled and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) appealed for information as the public warned he was “armed, violent and dangerous.”

Efforts to find him went worldwide and police were tipped off that he was in Luton.

They sent an extradition request to the National Crime Agency in London and Gordon was caught at the Martindales housing estate in the Bedfordshire town.

Resident Pavel Klimowicz, a student, said: “I was woken up by a loud scream and later learned that the police had searched the building and arrested him.

“It’s crazy to know that he’s one of the most wanted people in Canada.

“Children and families live here, so thank God that something worse didn’t happen.”

Another neighbor said: “He kept to himself, but he was always polite and nice.

“It’s unbelievable to think he’s wanted for murder.”

RCMP are still investigating the motive behind the “first degree murder” of Mr. Tubbs.

Gordon appeared before Westminster JPs on Tuesday last week – the day of his arrest – and was remanded in custody until September 30 pending an extradition hearing.
