Internet stunned by X-rated optical illusion – but can you guess what’s really going on?

REDDIT users have been stunned by an X-rated optical illusion involving eggs – but can you spot what’s really going on?

The image, uploaded on the popular chat site last month, has caused consternation as users try to figure what it actually is.

Can you spot what's going on in this optical illusion?

The rather innocuous photo appears to show four eggs stacked on top of each other but a closer look reveals what could be two pairs of bare legs.

Reddit users weren’t so convinced, though, and had their own theories as to what it could be.

“Yes… eggs… definitely not anything else because I have a immature mind,” one wrote.

“What else would they be?” asked another.

IHaveSoulDoubt replied: “Making babies either way.”

Manubibi chimed in: “Uh, I can kinda see it but only by ignoring some parts of the image. If I was to see it without any explanation, I would immediately say I don’t know exactly what the image is, honestly.”

“It took me VERY long to understand what tf you meant,” wrote ThatCarpetTowel05.

Others poured cold water on the claim it was a couple having sex, suggesting instead the pic was nothing more than a staged photo.

Anthryn237 posted: “Can do the same thing with the crease of your knee and elbow, or just about anything else of you try. Staged photos ≠ optical illusions.”

It comes after a mind-boggling optical illusion appearing to show horses on a mountain top caused a row between its creator and scientists.

Bev Doolitte’s portrait of five patch-skinned horses standing together on a snow ledge has been a mainstay on the National Institute of Environmental Health Services’ (NIEHS) website for a while now.

In it, what appears to be four white and brown horses and a foal are bunched together and blend into the brown rock and snowy background, giving the picture an optical illusion.

But scientists say Doolitte’s image actually has seven horses and not five, as its creator claims.

According to the group, the picture is of made of seven horses including some partial horses like a horse head and rear.

If you can’t see seven then maybe this humorous note from one of the NIEHS’ own scientists might help.

” I see one on the left looking out, and in the middle four faces are clustered close together – in that group the brown nose of one (second from left) covers the right side of the face of the one crouched lowest.

“To the right is a small horse standing sideways, and above it is the rear of the seventh. Unless I am hallucinating.”

If you still can’t see seven then rest assured by the fact you’re among the many who believe the real number shown in the picture to be five.
