Ione Skye is mourning the loss of former co-star Matthew Perry.
The actress, 53, shared two screenshots of her last conversation with Perry – who died of an alleged drowning at his Los Angeles home on Saturday – as she paid tribute to the beloved actor.
The two starred alongside each other in 1988 A Night in the Life of Jimmy ReardonPerry’s film debut.
“Hi! I hope everything is ok. I was meditating (am meditating now) and ‘In Your Eyes’ started playing. And I immediately thought how beautiful you are,” Perry, 54, wrote in a text message sent to Skye on the 15th. October, referencing a song from her 1989 film Say anything.
She replied, “Awe. I like that. Xo,” to which he replied, “I hope you’re healthy and happy.”

Skye told Perry it was “good to hear from him,” adding, “I have nothing but good memories with you.”
The actor said: “Me too. That one afternoon I was just sitting in my apartment and you were there!”
Skye also shared a throwback photo with Friends star where they both look like teenagers. “My last exchange a week ago. I am very, very sad. I loved this guy,” she wrote in the caption of the post.

In an exclusive statement to PEOPLE, his family said they are “heartbroken.”
“We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother,” they said. “Matthew brought so much joy to the world, both as an actor and as a friend. You all meant so much to him and we appreciate the tremendous outpouring of love.”

Tributes from the likes of Skye have been pouring in since the news broke, with fellow actors including Hank Azaria, Shannen Doherty and Selma Blair sharing their love for the late actor.
Azaria, 59, described his friend as “the funniest man ever” in a lengthy video posted on Instagram on Sunday.
“Matthew and I became really good friends and were more like brothers for a long time,” the comedian said. “We drank a lot together, we laughed a lot together, we were there for each other in the early days of our careers.”
“Our friendship lasted a long time. A lifetime really,” Doherty, 52, wrote on Instagram about Perry. “Shock and sadness prevail right now.”
Blair, 51, paid tribute to Perry, who she called “my oldest boyfriend”.
“We all loved Matthew Perry, and I especially. Every day. I loved him unconditionally. And he me. And I’m broken. Broken hearted. Sweet dreams, Matty. Sweet Dreams.”

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the first crew arrived at the residence at 4:07 p.m. Saturday.
“The adult male patient was deceased prior to the arrival of first responders,” an LAFD spokesperson told PEOPLE. “The patient was found by a bystander who moved the victim to a position where the head was out of the water” in a freestanding jacuzzi. “Firefighters pulled the victim from the jacuzzi and a quick medical evaluation determined him to be dead.”
TMZ obtained an audio recording of 911 that mentioned a “drowning” in connection with the 911 call made to Perry’s home.
