The winners of the IPL 2023: The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League has ended with great success. XX won after a thrilling final at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The final was postponed for a day due to rain and it is more likely that the winner will be decided by a super finish. Thankfully that scenario didn’t materialize and fans got to witness an eye-popping matchup between the Chennai Super Kings and the Gujarat Titans. The rain also threatened to play the spoiled game again on the reserve day, which it almost did.
GT first recorded the strike on April 214. Sai Sudharsan was the standout man, scoring 96 out of 47 balls. However, the rain interrupted the game when CSK arrived on the field.
After more than two hours of delay, the game resumed at 00:10 am on May 30. The target was reduced to 171 by the DLS method.
The Chennai Super Kings proved determined to win from the start. Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad posted a total of 52/0 in the power game (4 passes). Noor Ahmad eliminated both Conway and Gaikwad, while Mohit Sharma then brought in Ambati Rayudu and MS Dhoni with two consecutive serves.
The match is drifting away from CSK as Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja return to the fore. Jadeja hit Sharma with a score of six and four when it took 10 runs on the last two balls, effectively winning the match.
Chennai Super Kings (171/5) beat the Gujarat Titans (214/4) by five goals. The number of passes and goals was reduced by the DLS method due to the rain causing the match to be delayed by more than two hours.
However, CSK won and lifted their fifth IPL trophy.
