Syed Iqrar Ul Hassan, better known as Iqrar Ul Hassan, is a Pakistani television journalist and presenter. He is the Head of Product Development and the Host (as of 2021) of ARY News Pakistan’s Urdu Live Investigation Crime TV Show “Sar-e-Aam”.

Iqrar, along with his Sar-e-Aam team members, conducted a sting operation and highlighted the poor security situation in the Sindh Assembly and was wrongly arrested on April 29, 2016 on the orders of the Sindh Home Minister. However, they were released on bail the next day.

In May 2017, a video of Ikral went viral on social media, in which he could be seen walking around a hotel room in an unbuttoned bathrobe. Apparently, the video was filmed by his girlfriend in a hotel room in Dubai. The video sparked public outrage. However, Hassan later clarified the situation and said that the video was shot by his friend as a joke. He also revealed that he received threats to leave ‘Sar-e-Aam’ or else the video would go viral.
Second marriage battle
In 2018, Ikral sparked controversy when he revealed details of his second marriage on Twitter. He wrote in his tweet that he married Farah Hassan about 5 years ago and everyone in his life, be it family, staff or people around him, knew it. Ikral also mentioned that the marriage was consummated under difficult circumstances and with the consent of his first wife. He also revealed that his two wives have a good relationship and often go out for lunch together.

In May 2021, a video went viral in which Ikral could be seen slapping a man he was interviewing. After Iqral slapped the man, the people gathered around them also began to abuse the man, and Hassan did nothing to stop them. Initially, his actions were criticized on social media, but perceptions changed after Iqlal clarified the matter. He uploaded a video on his social media account in which the man he slapped was accused of sexually assaulting an underage girl (12 years old), tying her hands and tearing off her clothes. He added that the man had been blackmailing her for years. Furthermore, he said,
When we managed to find this blackmailer. He accused the girl saying that she had stolen Rs 1.50 lakh. from his car. As a human being, not a streamer, I ended up slapping him. I didn’t do this in hiding or in any torture chamber. I know there are a lot of cameras and people record with their phones but I can’t help myself. ”

Criticized for praising India
In January 2021, while sharing a tweet declaring India the “vaccine hub” of the world, Iqral addressed the comparisons Pakistanis made to India and wrote:
India vs Pakistan. We are not even sure if we ordered the vaccine, banana to door ki baat (making it is another story). “
He further wrote,
Muqabla kerna hai to taleem main kerain, science main kerain, khail main kerain, infrastructure main kerain, economic main kerain, technology main kerain… aur such ka samna kerain. “
He then shared photos of Indian and Pakistani transport vehicles, the latter of which was in shambles.

In another tweet, he pointed out that Pakistan’s passport and currency lack value compared to their South Asian counterparts. His tweets angered many Pakistanis, who criticized Iqral and called him “anti-national”. They even asked him to apologize for his tweets.
