Irfan Solanki is an Indian politician and member of the Samajwadi Party (SP). He was elected to the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly from West Sabah in 2012, 2017 and 2022.

Punished for misbehavior with female IAS officer
On June 19, 2011, Irfan Solanki and one of his associates were arrested for allegedly misbehaving with a female IAS officer of the state power department in Kanpur. On June 15, 2011, Solanki and his colleagues visited the office of Ritu Maheshwari, managing director of Kanpur Electricity Supply Company, and raised several complaints. When the security did not allow them entry, they broke into Maheshwari’s cabin and allegedly misbehaved with her. Clash with police over tinted car windows
In May 2012, Solanki and his supporters allegedly clashed with traffic police over their objections to his tinted car windows. While he was on his way to Delhi from Kanpur, he was stopped by the police in Faridabad. Solanki tried to convince police to let him go, telling them he was an MLA, but they insisted on removing the black film from the car’s windows because tinted windows were illegal. Thereafter, Solanki and his supporters allegedly got into a fight and assaulted the police, after which Solanki had to pay a fine of Rs 2,000. As tensions spread, a large police force consisting of PAQC and RAQF rushed to the scene to control the situation. The incident resulted in serious injuries to several police officers, journalists and civilians. A large team of policemen led by SSP Yashashvi Yadav entered the GSVM Medical College campus without the permission of the principal Dr Navneet Kumar and grabbed him by his collar and manhandled him. Following the incident, thousands of doctors in hospitals across Uttar Pradesh went on strike, describing the Samajwadi Party’s rule as “goonda raj” and demanding Solanki’s arrest. Several doctors in UP were mercilessly beaten and dragged by the police after the GSVM Medical College incident, doctors said. Health services across Uttar Pradesh were severely affected, with dozens of patients dying during the strike. A case was booked against Solanki for attempt to murder, rioting and voluntarily hurting following a six-day strike by doctors in Uttar Pradesh.
