Kelsey Riggs is not married and Dalen Cuff is not her husband. But two ESPN reporters recently shared some exciting news with their Instagram followers. Riggs, who has been with ESPN since 2019, said she is engaged to Cuff and they are expecting Baby Cuff this summer. Riggs, a Charleston Southern University alumnus, spent three years at WCNC-TV before joining ESPN.
Kelsey is also a frequent anchor of ESPN’s flagship news and information show, SportsCenter. Riggs also received a scholarship from Charleston’s football program. The two journalists only announced their relationship publicly at the end of 2023, and now they are planning to start a small family.

Kelsey Riggs, a reporter for ESPN, does not have a husband, but is engaged to Dalen Cuff. Riggs announced her engagement to Cuff in the same Instagram post in which she revealed her pregnancy. Riggs has previously been seen without an engagement ring on Instagram, but Kelsey’s latest picture shows off her diamond ring.
It’s unclear when the two started dating, but Kelsey’s first post with Dalen was on his birthday last November. She posted photos of herself with an ESPN reporter. Along with the photo, she wrote: “I would never dream, now I can’t see anything else.” Happy birthday, DC. “You will always be my favorite. Dalen posted his first post with Kelsey that same month, titled “I’m so thankful for you and that USA exists.”
Who is Dalen Cuff?
Cuff works for ESPN as a play-by-play commentator and college basketball studio commentator. He joined the sports programming network in 2016 and helped establish ACCN 2019. Cuff, a former basketball player, was the captain of the men’s basketball team at Columbia University. Cuff holds the Columbia records for games played, career three-pointers made and single-season three-point percentage.
After college, Cuff started working in marketing for the InterPublic Group. Later, Columbia invited him to be a color commentator for a men’s basketball game and he accepted. Cuff wanted to change careers after working in marketing for five years. He joined the IMG agency, which is headed by Aimee Leone. Aimee was able to bring Cuff to NBC, where she previously worked for two decades. Dalen began his career at NBCSN Ivy League before moving to the network’s Boston regional station.
Cuff covered the Rio Olympics for NBC and even learned Portuguese in the process. Cuff sometimes covers football games for ESPN in addition to hosting ACC Network shows. Dalen was married before he got engaged to Kelsey, and had a daughter from a previous relationship. She posts photos of her daughter Lyra on Instagram, including one from her fifth birthday party last year.

Riggs captioned the image,
“The only thing I always knew I wanted to be was a mother. The only thing I ever knew I wanted was to share life’s greatest gift with the person I’m lucky enough to know I’ll love and be loved forever.”
She went on to say,

Kelsey’s pregnancy message also included heartfelt wishes and prayers for others awaiting this point in their lives. She went on to say,
“The waiting is hard, the questions are great, but the blessings that lie ahead will truly outweigh all.”
