Ishita Kishore was born in 1996 (27 years old; as of 2023) in Begumpet, Hyderabad, Telangana state, India. She is a native of Patna, Bihar; however, she spent most of her life in Delhi, India. She completed her studies in Mathematics Commerce course from Air Force Balbharati School, Delhi in 2014 and secured 97.25% marks. From 2014 to 2017, she pursued BA Honors in Economics from Shri Ram School of Business, University of Delhi. In 2015, she interned with Housing And Urban Development Corporation Limited and in 2016 with GAIL (India) Ltd. From June 2017 to March 2019, he served as a risk analyst at Ernst & Young (EY).

UPSC exam
Since she was a child, her academic performance has been particularly good. After resigning in 2019, she started preparing for the UPSC IAS exam but failed in her first two attempts as she could clear the prelims. In 2023, she appeared for the UPSC-IAS exam for the third time and secured the first rank. She scored 901 points in the written test and 193 points in the interview, for a total of 1094 points, and won the first place in the prestigious school exam.
Prepare strategy and timetable
In an interview after the exam, she revealed that she used to study nine hours a day and worked hard to improve her writing skills. The elective subjects she took for the UPSC IAS examination were Political Science and International Relations.

- She participated in several extracurricular activities during school and college. She is president of the Rotary-sponsored Interact Club and has chaired Model United Nations events during school events. While in college she was a member of the Economic Society and the Literary Society. She also worked as an intern at the NGO CRY (Children’s Rights and You) in 2015 and taught children at the children’s shelter in Tihar Jail.
- She has been interested in sports since she was a child and was a national-level football player who participated in the 2012 Subroto Cup. In 2017, she was a member of the Indochina youth delegation sent on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Government of India Youth Affairs and Sports.
