Isiah Pacheco's Siblings: All About Travoise, Ricky, Felicia and Celeste

During Kansas City Chiefs games, Isiah Pacheco leaves it all on the field to honor his family, including his siblings: Travoise, Ricky, Felicia and Celeste.

Since being drafted into the NFL in 2022, the New Jersey native has won the Super Bowl in each of his first two seasons, even scoring a touchdown in his debut. As the running back celebrated his second championship in February 2024 with his parents, Felicia “Jody” Cannon and Julio Pacheco, Isiah thought of his siblings.

Travoise and Celeste were killed a year apart in 2016 and 2017, respectively.

When he was a student-athlete at Rutgers University, Isiah would drop to his knees in the end zone and take the opportunity to talk to them before returning for the next play.

“I’m going to say a few prayers for my sister and brother and a few people that have died in my life,” Isiah revealed in an interview with NJ.com in 2019. “And then I put it all on the line for my family in the stands.”

They grew up in New Jersey

Isiah is the youngest of five children: Travoise Cannon was the oldest of the siblings, followed by Ricky Fowler, Felicia Cannon and Celeste Cannon.

When the professional football player was a child, the family lived in Bridgeton, NJ, before moving to Vineland, where he played for the local high school.

His mother recalled when young Isiah persistently poked his older siblings – especially Celeste – until they gave in to his demands or offered to take him somewhere he needed to go.

“I said to him, ‘How are you going to lead your brothers and sisters? You are the smallest’, the family matriarch shared in an interview with Atlantic City Press in 2017. “But he would make them do what he wanted.”

Felicia was named after their mother

Felicia is her mother’s third child and namesake. However, the family has an easy way to reduce household clutter.

The family matriarch is called “Jody,” and Isiah honors her by holding the name close to his heart.

“It says ‘Jody’ on my necklace,” he said while showing off a gold name tag during an NFL 2022 interview. “That’s my mom’s nickname. Her real name is Felicia, but we call her Jody. You know it’s my heart.”

Both Felicia and Ricky don’t stand out.

In an interview with the Rutgers Scarlet Knights for the 2021 feature, Isiah talked about his oldest brother.

According to the Chiefs running back, his love for football began when he was hanging around a local playground and decided he wanted to participate. After Isiah told his dad Julio that he was ready to play sports, he got involved – and so did Travoise.

“Football played a role in the relationship between me and my oldest brother,” Isiah said. “He wanted to be that big brother who always stood at games and cheered me on.”

After Travoise’s sudden death in 2016, Isiah felt lost but continued to play, turning his grief into resilience. “It hurt because I didn’t have the same leadership when I would hear him yelling my name on the football field,” he recalled.

Years later, Isiah still thinks about his sibling and how he would have reacted today.

“My brother, if he saw me here, he would be shocked,” he told NJ.com in a 2019 interview. “He encouraged me to play football as a kid and he never got a chance to see me play here.”

Isiah added, “Having the opportunity to play ball without worrying about the tragedies that have happened helps me a lot. It makes me want to go harder.”

Isiah was close to his late sister Celeste

Throughout his athletic career, Isiah kept Celeste’s memory alive by reminiscing about their quality time together.

“She could cook, but she couldn’t cook as well as my mom,” he said Atlantic City Press 2017. “When Celeste was cooking, she probably intended to burn something.”

According to the Super Bowl champion’s father, Julio, Isiah’s late sister — who loved making cookies and dancing to rapper Meek Mill’s music — kept him humble.

“If she was here now, she’d say, ‘Who do you think you are, a superstar or something?’ ” he joked to the outlet.

Travoise died in 2016

The Pachecos suffered tragedy in January 2016 when Travoise was stabbed to death at the Amity Heights Apartments in Bridgeton, NJ, according to local reports.

The 29-year-old, who was injured in the torso, later succumbed to his injuries at Inspira Regional Medical Center in Vineland. The suspect was later arrested and charged with the crime, NJ.com reports.

Although Isiah was only 16 at the time of his brother’s death, he constantly remembers Travoise’s love for him.

“Even when I was young, [my brother] he was always there, watching over me,” he recalled to NJ.com in 2019. “I had an electric four-wheeler, and my brother first taught me how to drive. It was always something I liked to do as a hobby, riding four-wheelers and motorcycles.”

Isiah continued to play after Celeste’s death in 2017

The family experienced another difficult loss in May 2017 when 24-year-old Celeste was killed by her partner, Donald Scurry Jr., NJ.com reports. A few months later, Donald was convicted of her death.

In 2021 All approaches Rutgers Scarlet Knights feature, dad Julio recounted her impact on Isiah. “When his sister died, that did something to him, too,” he said. “He took a big part of his heart away. She was like a second mom.”

Isiah echoed that sentiment Atlantic City Press In 2017, “My sister was like my best friend,” the up-and-coming athlete said at the time. “I still think about my sister to this day… I miss her very much.”

Three days after her death, Isiah took the field for the Vineland Fighting Clan and ran for 222 yards and a touchdown in a 42-6 win over Egg Harbor Township.

Less than a week later, Isiah paid tribute at his sister’s funeral. That night, the grieving teenager turned in another impressive performance against Cumberland Regional, running for 157 yards and three touchdowns as Vineland won 60-6.

“I knew he looked down on me and took my game to a higher level because I had something to play for. That was my reason,” he explained to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.

Isiah added: “I wanted to make her laugh, so I left it all out there on the court. She would have been proud of me that day, and I’m pretty sure she was.”

Isiah is the current uncle of Celeste’s children

Celeste is survived by three children: daughters Tazjae and Tazirah Kamor and son Donald Scurry III.

After her death, Isiah drew inspiration from them every time he stepped on the court. Now she hopes her young son will follow in his footsteps.

“My nephew, we’re trying to introduce him to football, and he was here in the stands and it brought me light,” he told NJ.com in 2019. “But it’s sad to think that my sister could be holding him right now.”

Recently, Isiah’s nieces taught him TikTok dances, and he shows off their choreography during a touchdown. — They say: ‘O uncle Pope, learn it from us!’ he told PEOPLE in February 2024.
