Chart regulars You Me At Six announced the band were ending the day with a funeral Instagram video that saw them looking somber in a graveyard.

Luckily for fans, it will be one last hurray with the group committed to completing their farewell tour dates in 2025.
Frontman Josh Franceschi said: “When we started YMAS we were kids. We have always just wanted longevity, travel and experience life as a group of friends. We feel like we’re on the cusp of our 20th anniversary as a band, now’s the time to wrap it up.
“We’re in a fortunate position where our fans still want to see us live and come celebrate the life of this band. That’s what we’ll be doing in 2024 and 2025. We can’t wait to see our fans on the road.”
Fans were devastated by the news and took to Instagram to express their grief.
One wrote: “I didn’t expect my heart to be broken on Wednesday night.”
Another said: “This is the worst news ever. But thank you for making music that has healed me in so many situations. For giving me the most amazing memories at your shows. I appreciate you.”
A third said, “Stop the world I descend from.”
The band, whose latest release Truth Decay came out last year, have a string of shows in the UK in February and will be playing festivals in the summer.
One of the most successful British bands of the 21st century, YMAS scored two number one albums in 2021’s Cavalier Youth and Suckapunch.
Singer Josh previously spoke to The Sun to try to dispel the stigma surrounding mental health and opened up about seeing a therapist.
He told us: “Everyone should talk. If you don’t want to show your vulnerability in front of someone close to you, talking to a therapist is a must in my opinion. It doesn’t matter how strong you are.”
The band held a series of virtual workshops in a bid to beat Blue Monday – officially the most depressing day of the year.
Supported by charities Calm and Young Minds, the YOUMonday initiative saw the lads bake sourdough bread, cook vegan meals, ride a circular train and skate on their social media pages to spread positivity.
“We’ve always meant to do something like this,” Josh said. “We’ve been working and talking to people like Calm for a while now.
“Now having this conversation openly, transparently, full of support and warmth is a very important thing, especially with what we are going through. Now is not the time to close the door on those conversions. We’ll let some people in, let people know what we’re doing. Just the stuff we use to relax and use as a means of escaping reality through the doom and gloom of January.”
