His co-star Charlene has now revealed that the ITV crew are in daily contact with Rageh as he recovers from the medical episode.
Speaking at the 2024 TV BAFTA Awards, Charlene also admitted that Rageh would have opened up about the terrifying situation back in the day.
Charlene told The Sun: “Rageh is doing very well.
“I think that when he wants to talk about what happened, then he will.
“ITV News is family, we check in on it daily and continuously to make sure it has the support it needs.”
Charlene worked with Rageh as a journalist on ITV for a number of years and thanked fans for their support and concern for her TV friend.
The terrifying situation occurred last month when Rageh was taken to hospital moments after exiting the program as he appeared to be suffering from a medical emergency.
Just minutes into the ITV News show, those watching at home noticed the journalist and presenter appearing shakily on screen and struggling to speak.
Although he still hasn’t revealed all the reasons behind his illness, Rageh did address his fans in a statement released shortly after he fell ill.
He said: “I would like to thank everyone for their kindness and good wishes, especially all the medical staff, all my wonderful colleagues at ITV News and our viewers who have raised their concerns.

“At that time I was determined to finish presenting the program. I am grateful for all the support I received.”
Many viewers were left furious that the star was allowed to be on TV and took to social media to share their anger that Rageh was not pulled from the air earlier.
One even accused the manufacturers of failing in their duty of care.
Who is ITV News presenter Rageh Omaar?
Rageh has been a familiar face on British screens on both the BBC and ITV for years
Rageh, 56, was born on 19 July 1967 and is a Somali-born British journalist and author – best known as the BBC’s world affairs correspondent, where he made a name for himself reporting from Iraq.
He was born in Mogadishu, and moved to Great Britain when he was only two years old.
Rageh began his television career at the BBC in 2004, where he worked in Ethiopia as the BBC’s first Africa correspondent.
In January 2013 he moved to ITV News where he became a special correspondent.
The following year he was promoted to international affairs editor and from 2017 became the regular anchor of the lunchtime news and evening news.
On September 19, 2022, he was one of the royal journalists who covered the funeral of Queen Elizabeth.
Away from our screens, Rageh is married to Georgiana Rose Montgomery-Cuninghame and they have three children.
Taking to X, ex-Twitter, the viewer raged: “I hope you’re ok @ragehomaar. I was horrified to see @itvnews allowed you to go on air.
“I’d drag you out on the first VT. It raises duty of care questions.”
