Biography of JJ Abrams
Jeffrey Jacob Abrams was born in New York on June 27, 1966. Abrams’ parents are executive producer Carol Ann Abrams and television producer Gerald W. Abrams. Abrams’ father was a TV producer, and young Abrams followed in his footsteps by making the short film Super-8 as a child. At the age of 16, Abrams got his first film job, making the low-budget science fiction film Nightbeast (1982).
He studied at Palisades High School. After graduating from high school, Abrams planned to attend art school instead of a traditional college, but enrolled at Sarah Lawrence College instead.
