Jeopardy winner Amy Schneider said Tuesday, September 27 that she married her fiancée of 25 years, Genevieve Davis, on May 9. In Oakland, California, the couple were married in a “small private ceremony at the Alameda County Recorder. Despite getting married a few months ago, Amy, 43, only shared the good news with fans on her social media page, along with photos from their wedding.
They got married in a private ceremony because they “couldn’t wait that long to confess [their] love and commitment to each other,” says champion Jeopardy. However, the couple will hold their customary wedding and celebration next summer.
Amy Schneider and Genevieve Davis met through mutual acquaintances.
Danger Amy initially met Genevieve, a nanny, through mutual acquaintances in July 2020. Amy tweeted about their first meeting:
“My friend was hanging out at my apartment, talking on the phone with her boyfriend, and finally invited her boyfriend’s sister on a trip somewhere.” Genevieve turned out to be that sister.”
At first, she befriends the “sweet” Genevieve and they start hanging out together. People thought they were “dating” because of their relationship, but Genevieve denied the rumors, insisting she was “straight”. Amy, on the other hand, thinks the relationship will develop into something romantic. She told the Los Angeles Times about her friendship with Genevieve:
“I always hope for the best. I love hanging out with her. I like that we don’t always talk and don’t always have to entertain each other. We can focus on the phone. or whatever we wanted, and everything was perfect.”

They fell in love seven months after they first met and began dating in February 2021. Amy told The New York Times:
“This is the second most important relationship in my life. I’ve never even kissed anyone when I met the woman who would become my wife, and I’m only 25 years old.”
After a year of dating, the couple decided to get married in February 2022. Amy announced the good news on Twitter, with a photo of their left hand wearing a solitaire engagement ring. Even the marriage proposal was prepared by the couple. They planned to have Genevieve propose to Amy around Valentine’s Day and celebrate their wedding anniversary in February.
But Genevieve decided to surprise Amy by proposing on an unscheduled date, taking Amy completely by surprise. Here’s what Genevieve told the Los Angeles Times:
“When she came in, I got on my knees and she went crazy.” It was a very funny video.”
Amy continued:
“Everything was perfect. Then, for a while, we had… balloons hanging over our place, but, you know.”
Amy proposed to Genevieve at a lavish anniversary dinner in Sonoma about a week later. The couple finally said “I do” on May 9 in a small ceremony. When exchanging vows, the couple wore simple white outfits with flowers on their heads. Amy was previously married to Keely Anneken. She married Keely in 2004, but they divorced in 2016 when she revealed she was transgender. Amy is the highest-paid contestant in Jeopardy history, receiving nearly $1.4 million after winning 40 games. She has the second-longest winning streak in Jeopardy history, behind only Ken Jennings.
