Jaan Nissar Lone is an Indian singer and music composer. He is famous for the Hindi song “Rubaru” from the Bollywood movie “Ginny and Sunny”. He is famous for his Kashmiri Sufi songs. He is the CEO and founder of Kashmir’s first international music record label “AR Music Studios”. He has worked with famous Bollywood singers such as Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Shaan and others.

Jaan Nissar Lone was born in 1985 (38 years old; as of 2023) in Sheeri village, Baramulla district, Jammu and Kashmir, India. He completed his high school education at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Baramulla Shahkote. He graduated from Kashmir University. He studied for an MA in Indian and Western Music, Music Theory and Composition at Trinity College of Music, London. After completing his formal education, Jain Nisar moved to Mumbai and started his music career.

He was the music director of the 2012 Hindi film Shudra: The Rising. Jaan Nissar Lone sang the song “Allah Teri Kya Shaan Hai” for the movie “18.11: Code of Secrecy” along with singer Kamal Khan. In 2014, he also served as the song’s music director. In the movie “Pranaam” released in 2019, he composed the music for the song “Rann Ki Dahaad”. Jaan Nissar is a singer-songwriter who released a romantic Hindi song “Khuda Meherbaan” in 2019 under the Rajshri label. He collaborated with famous playback singer Richa Sharma to direct a song “Mere Ali Moula Ali” with T-Series in February 2022. He produced and composed another song “Ve Diljaaniya” in January 2023 with Richa. He released a song “Ve Diljaaniya”. Jaan Nissar Lone hails from Kashmir and represents Kashmiri folk music to the world. He has created many Kashmiri works such as ‘Maayi Chaney’ in the film ‘Half Widow’ (2017). He composed a Kashmiri folk song “Harmukh Bartal” (2018) and was featured in the first season of the Hindi web series “The Family Man”. In 2019, Jaan Nissar composed a song about Wazwan (Kashmir (Multi-Course Meal)), sung by his wife Rani Hazarika, to promote traditional Kashmiri cuisine for social functions. “Pannun Watan” is a song in which Jaan Nissar showcases his talents in singing and playing musical instruments such as Rubab (the national instrument of Afghanistan, commonly used in northern India and Pakistan) and Melodica. In December 2022, he composed and sang a spiritual song “Qarar Rouvum” with female singer Sniti Mishra.
