Jaismine Lamboriya is an Indian boxer who competes in the women’s 60kg weightlifting competition. She qualified for the 2022 Commonwealth Games after defeating Indian boxer Parveen Hooda in the trials.

Her father, Jaivir Lamboriya, works as a contract home guard. Her mother Joginder Kaur was a housewife. She has two sisters, her sister is a physical therapist.
Profession
While studying at school, she became interested in boxing. She then began training in boxing under the tutelage of her uncles Sandeep Lamboriya and Parvinder Singh Lamboriya. In 2006, she participated in the Commonwealth Games. Later, her uncle started a boxing academy called Lamboria in Bhiwani and she joined the first training academy. In 2021, she participated in the Dubai Asian Boxing Championships. She defeated the Mongolian boxer 4-1 and won the bronze medal. She won a silver medal at the 2021 Boxam International Boxing Championships. That same year, she tested positive for COVID-19, as a result of which she developed various health issues and increased her weight from 57 to 63 kilograms. In an interview, recalling those days, she said:
I worked hard and my weight dropped from 63kg to 60kg. I have many questions. For five or six months I couldn’t train properly. My hemoglobin dropped. This was a difficult time for me. But a year later, I feel fine and don’t have any health issues. “
In 2022, she qualified to represent India in the Commonwealth Games.
She plays left-handed and is coached by her uncles Sandeep Lamboriya and Parvinder.

- Jaismine Lamboriya was born and brought up in Bhiwani, known as the “Mini Cuba of India” because of the many boxing clubs in Bhiwani. Jaismine became interested in boxing after Indian boxers Vijender Singh and Mary Kom achieved historic victories at the London Olympics in 2012. In an interview, she said of boxing:
Since I am from Bhiwani, I have always heard stories about Vijender Singh and Mary Kom’s medal. Before that, because my uncles were into boxing, I watched video clips of their matches. There was a lot of talk around boxing when I was growing up. I thought I could only be a boxer. “
- She first told her mother about her interest in boxing when she was studying in Class 10. Her mother then said she would ask her uncle, a boxer, about it. In an interview, when her uncle Sandeep was asked about it, he said:
I asked Jasmine if she was serious about boxing. She was shy, but she sounded determined that day. I told her and her mom that I would get her into boxing. “
- In an interview, Jasmine said she had to convince her grandfather to allow her to pursue a career in boxing. Her grandfather, Chandraban, a soldier and wrestler, agreed to her request, and her uncle began her boxing training.
