Cillian Murphy has had a long and brilliant career with his latest film, Oppenheimerreceived excellent reviews ahead of its upcoming release.
But the 47-year-old actor is extremely modest about his success – as well as his salary – and has previously admitted that he thinks he is overpaid for his profession.
According to www.celebritynetworth, Ireland-born Cillian has an impressive net worth of $20 million, which he has amassed over the years by making several big budget blockbusters, including Inception, 28 days later, Dunkirk, Batman begins, And the dark Knight.

His nine-year stint at Peaky Blinders also helped boost his bankroll, but the wealth didn’t put him at ease. In an interview with Protectsaid: “I’m really lucky. Sometimes I feel embarrassed about it. I just [expletive] performer.
“There are doctors and nurses and [expletive] working people. I struggle with it. I mean, actors are overpaid, you know?

“It’s great when you get paid, when you’re young and you don’t have any money left, but the Catholic guilt immediately hits and I say, ‘Things are going to get worse. I don’t deserve this’. But I’m not.”
Cillian lives in Ireland with his wife Yvonne McGuinness and their two teenage sons, Aran and Malachy. Despite his immense popularity, he prefers to stay out of the limelight and won’t appear on talk shows to promote his movies unnecessarily.

When The Guardian asked him in a recent interview about his appearances outside of television and film roles, he said: “I do them because you are contractually obligated to do them. I just put up with them. It’s always been hard for me. I’ve said this, many times.

“I just want to foretell this by saying that I’m honored. I’m happy to be doing what I love. I’m really happy. But I don’t like the personality aspect of being an actor. .”

He continued: “I don’t see why I should entertain and shine on a talk show. I don’t know why I’m suddenly expected to do that. Why?”
When he’s not working, Cillian loves nothing more than being with his family back home. He has been married to Yvonne since 2004 after they met at a concert by his rock band in 1996.

Cillian says he doesn’t hang out much because he hates the attention. Although she tells her fans, “I’m always happy to chat,” she doesn’t like sneaky photo opportunities. Instead, he prefers to stay at home cooking with his wife and spending quality time with his children.
