James Corden Says He Tried Ozempic for Weight Loss but 'It Didn’t Really Work'

James Corden has revealed that he tried Ozempic for weight loss, but didn’t have the same results as other stars who took the drug’s injections.

During his September 19 episode This life of mine podcast, the actor and comedian, 46, spoke with Richard Osman, who opened up about his lifelong battle with food addiction. Corden then went on to say that when it comes to his relationship with food, taking Ozempic hasn’t had much of an impact.

Ozempic is an FDA-approved prescription drug for people with type 2 diabetes. It’s the brand name — like Wegovy — for semaglutide, which works in the brain to make you feel full and is the latest Hollywood weight-loss trend.

“I tried Ozempic, and it won’t surprise you when you look at me now that it didn’t really work,” Corden joked. “I tried it for a while, and then I realized I said, ‘Oh no, nothing about my eating has anything to do with starvation.’ All this makes you not feel hungry. But I very rarely eat [just because of hunger].”

“You’re looking at someone who ate king size, and when I say king size [Cadbury] Dairy Milk — the one you give someone for Christmas — at the car wash,” ex The Late Late Show said the host. “None of it was like, ‘Oh, I’m so hungry.’ It’s not that, but something else.”

Corden isn’t the only celebrity to talk about taking Ozempic and not seeing the results they were looking for.

“I’ve seen so many people try it and lose weight. So I said, ‘Okay, I’ll try this.’ And I haven’t lost any weight.” Xscape singer Kandi Burruss said in June. “It didn’t reduce my appetite. I know some people think, ‘Oh, I can’t eat.’ Not me! I had appetizers, a regular meal, and dessert, okay? Nothing stopped me.”

“I used it for a long time, but I didn’t really see any results,” The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Heather Gay shared in November 2023.
