James Middleton Shares Adorable Photo of Son Inigo on Skis and Reflects on Past 'January Blues'

James Middleton is starting 2025 on a high with his wife Alizée Thevenet and their son Inigo.

On January 9, Kate Middleton’s younger brother posted photos of a recent skiing adventure with Alizée and their one-year-old son on Instagram and wrote about navigating the “January blues.” James, a pet food entrepreneur, has spoken openly about his previous struggles with depression and said he finds solace in taking life one day at a time.

“A different kind of January blues… 🩵🏔,” James began the carousel on Instagram, which began with an adorable photo of Inigo on skis! The video shows the little boy wrapped up on top of the mountain, expertly holding a small pole in each hand. Two of the six family dogs were with Inigo and appeared in all the following pictures.

“The January blues hit me hard… and still do to some extent – the lingering effects of the holiday season and long dark nights mixed with over-ambitious New Year’s resolutions mean I feel like I just want to survive and it’s only the beginning of the year…” he wrote. James. “But a few years ago I set a new mantra that was inspired by my dogs 🐾 Don’t spend every moment thinking about those to come or those in the past.”

“The past is imperfect, the future will be too – take every day as a new day, you can be excited about the future … the past won’t get in the way!” said the founder of James & Ella.

Princess Kate’s younger brother said he and his family started the new year with an “adventure in the mountains”, where they had bluebird skies and fresh air — ideal for skiing. James’ carousel rolled to show Alizée feeding Inigo on the slopes, followed by a shot of the couple pulling their son in a carrier as they skied with the dogs at their heels. Another photo shows Alizée snowshoeing alone, and the post closed with a photo of the family on top of a mountain.

Reflecting, James said: “I can’t believe how fast Inigo is growing up—in fact that’s what scares me the most… I’m afraid if I blink I’ll miss it… but like dogs, we include him in all our memory adventures taking each day as it is how come…”

James and Alizée, a French financial analyst, married in September 2021 and welcomed their first child in September 2023. Little Inigo is following in the footsteps of his cousins ​​Prince George (11), Princess Charlotte (9) and Prince Louis (6) by learning to ski , because Princess Kate and Prince William are known to relax with their children on private skiing vacations.

The Princess of Wales turned 43 on January 9, and James dropped a festive comment on Prince William’s emotional social media post celebrating Kate.

“The most amazing wife and mother,” Prince William wrote under a new picture of the princess taken by Matt Porteous, one of their photographers. “The strength you’ve shown over the past year has been incredible. George, Charlotte, Louis and I are so proud of you. Happy birthday, Catherine.”

James dropped two emojis below – a birthday cake and a red heart – sending love to his sister’s special day. The Princess of Wales blew out the candles after a challenging year in which she underwent abdominal surgery, was diagnosed with cancer and completed chemotherapy.
