Jamie Lee Curtis looks back at how far he came on his sober path.
In the post on Instagram on February 3, the actress opened herself about her sobriety and that she remained true to her promise that she would not drink or use, “no matter what” – even after learning that she was a place for her recovery group meetings no longer the place to meet your recovery no longer standing after the fire pallisade.
“26 years ago today I went into my first recovery meeting. Since then, my life has changed completely,” she divided in the inscription. “I created beautiful, beautiful, friendships, and it spread my life out of recovery and that gave me a family life and a creative life that I never thought was possible.”

She continued: “With every person I came with in contact that shared their experience, steng and hope because it refers to alcoholism and drug addiction, I thank you for the courage and welcome for all those who came before us, and for for those who followed, thank you. ”

The first photo of her post was the screenshot of her twelve steps app, which shows that she has been sober for 26 years – or 312 months, 9,498 days or 227,911 hours. The second diamond was a screenshot of the Google Maps screen, which showed where the church that once housed her weekly recovery meeting burned in the fires in Los Angeles.

Curtis spoke openly about his sober trip. In an interview with Colin Farrell for Diverse Actors for the actors, she said she would be sober for her “heritage” because he interrupted the pattern through the generations of her family.
“That will be the only biggest thing I do, if I can stay sober,” she said. “Because generations of people had their lives and destroyed with alcoholism and drug addiction. For me, the first soberness is always.”
