Jamie Lee Curtis Gets Sentimental as Freakier Friday Filming Nears End: ‘Grateful to My Ultimate Movie Daughter’

Jamie Lee Curtis has a “cryday” on Friday.

The Fucking Friday star, 65, shared an emotional post on Instagram on Friday, August 16, reflecting on the “last Friday” on the set of her upcoming film Crazy Friday as filming on the Disney sequel wraps up in the coming days.

In Curtis’ caption for the selfie, the Oscar winner waxed sentimental about the time she spent on set with her “ultimate movie daughter,” Lindsay Lohan.

“The last FRIDAY of this CRAZIEST FRIDAY or should I call it CRYDAY,” Curtis wrote. “We still have a few more days next week, but it’s almost over and this morning I got to work and saw hundreds of people come together to do this for the fans, Filming a movie in California, I feel special gratitude to my ULTIMATE film daughter, @lindsaylohan without whom we could not have made this film. Ever.”

“@suziekondi gave me a shirt after I complimented her on hers and I wore it today in her honor. Off to wig and off to work,” added Curtis. “Thanks for all the @disneyd23 LOVE! It was LEGENDARY!”

Curtis’ announcements come just days after she and Lohan appeared at Disney’s D23 fan event on Aug. 9, where they talked about the sequel to their 2003 body swap film. The pair are set to reprise their roles as Anne and Tess Coleman for the 2025 film.

Also this week, Lohan and Curtis teamed up once again to take part in a popular social media trend, where they had a little fun with the “modest” trend. In the clip, Lohan and Curtis can be seen riding in a car, as Lohan says, “Straight hair, very modest.” Curtis then interjects as he shows off his seat belt, “I’m wearing my seat belt, very carefully.”

The post, which they shared as a joint upload to Instagram, references Jools Lebron’s TikTok video about how she presents herself as “modest” when she’s at work. The viral word is defined as a person who is modest or restrained, according to Merriam-Webster, and can also refer to a modest way of dressing.

Crazy Friday: Everything about Fucking Friday Sequel starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan

Even outside of participating in viral trends, Lohan and Curtis are promoting their new movie by revealing who they would like Fucking Friday-style swap places with. Speaking to PEOPLE at the D23 event in Anaheim, Calif., Lohan said she would switch with her son, Luai Shammas, 1, who she shares with husband, Bader Shammas.

“Just to see – because he is, so pure and so happy, just to see life through his eyes, every day. He’s just this beautiful bundle of joy. I can’t think of anything else,” she said.

Curtis, on the other hand, was focused on swapping bodies with a professional athlete. “I want to be Caitlin Clark for a day. I want to play basketball like Caitlin Clark,” the actress said of the WNBA star, adding, “She’s my lucky number, 22.”

Curtis told PEOPLE as well Crazy Friday is “a love letter to mothers and daughters”.

“It’s so nice to see three generations in this,” Lohan added. “It’s so nice to see Anna ask Tess for advice. But then Tess still wants to come in and give advice. And Anna has become a little bit like Tess in a way in this… which is what happens in life. You always become a little like your mom!”
