Jamie Lynn Spears Returns to Dancing With the Stars Finale Following News of Dad’s Amputated Leg

Jamie Lynn Spears is back for Dancing with the stars finals. Her appearance on the reality competition follows news of her father’s serious health condition.

Jamie Spears, 71, the father of the reality star, 32, and older sister Britney Spears, 42, had to have his leg amputated about a month ago, multiple sources confirmed to PEOPLE on Tuesday.

The controversial patriarch Spears reportedly spent weeks in the hospital with a bacterial infection on one of his legs, sources shared, though a rep for Jamie did not respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

Not yet dealing with her father’s condition, Jamie Lynn posted some behind-the-scenes footage on Instagram later that day, showing celebratory moments from the season 32 finale. She and dance pro Alan Bersten were eliminated in the second week of the competition.
