Jane Seymour Says Lindsay Lohan Was ‘Terrific’ in New Film: ‘She’s in a Really Good Place’ (Exclusive)

Jane Seymour is thrilled with Lindsay Lohan’s performance in their upcoming movie together!

The actress, 73, spoke with PEOPLE at WIF’s 17th Annual Oscar Nominees Party on Friday about working with Lohan, 37, on their new Netflix rom-com Irish wish.

As she explains, she plays the mother of Lohan’s character in the “really sweet” film – and her on-screen daughter was “awesome”.

“I mean, it’s a big comeback for her, but she’s fantastic,” Seymour says. “Yeah, she was great. I mean, I watched everything she did when she was younger, and I think she’s in a really good place right now, and she’s great at it.”

Seymour adds that she felt Lohan’s comeback energy on set, and that the duo ended up getting to know each other despite not shooting a single scene in the same location.

“We actually met in Ireland. I think I had a rehearsal and she was in the middle of shooting a scene, but we stopped and talked, and we spent some time together in New York a few days ago,” she says. “We just kind of met and talked about kids and life and stuff like that.”

IN Irish wish, which debuts on Netflix on March 15, Seymour and Lohan round out a cast that also includes Ed Speleers, Ayesha Curry and Alexander Vlahos. Seymour tells PEOPLE that “everyone is excited about” the film, which follows Lohan as she plays Maddie, a woman whose best friend gets engaged to the man Maddie assumed was the love of her life.

“It’s a beautiful story about happiness, love and self-confidence,” Lohan previously told Tudum about the film. “At Maddie’s [one of the only] the characters I played [who’s] a woman making her own way in the world. We shaped her in such a way that she was a little more insecure in the beginning, and then she grows throughout the film and in the end she really comes into her own.”

“It’s important to put yourself first and know your worth. If you know you deserve better, go get it,” she added.

Irish wish arrives amid Lohan’s return to Hollywood, after she last starred in the 2022 holiday film Falling for Christmas — also directed by Janeen Damian — and made a cameo in the film Mean girls movie musical earlier this year.

Lohan is also targeting the long-awaited sequel to the 2003 film. Crazy Friday. Speaking to PEOPLE last week, the actress shared that the film is “in the works” and that she’s “excited to be working with Jamie [Lee Curtis] again and see how much more we can get out.”

“Because we generally talk almost every other day, I think we’re going to have a lot of fun with this,” Lohan added.

Irish wish comes out on Netflix on March 15, just in time for St. Patrick’s Day. Patrick.
