Jessica Lange made a rare red carpet appearance at the 2024 Oscars.
The two-time Oscar winner looked striking in a shimmering black gown styled by Negar Ali-Kline. She accessorized with a Martin Katz hexagon sapphire and diamond ring in platinum, diamond cushion crescent earrings in white gold microset and a stack of white diamond rings
Lange, 74, is scheduled to take the stage as one of the evening’s hosts. Other stars to present the awards on Sunday night include Mahershala Ali, Nicolas Cage, Jamie Lee Curtis, Brendan Fraser, Matthew McConaughey, Lupita Nyong’o, Ke Huy Quan, Michelle Yeoh, Zendaya, Chris Hemsworth, Dwayne Johnson and Regina King .

Although Lange no longer walks red carpets like she used to, the Hollywood icon is as busy as ever. The actress is currently guest starring on FX Feud: Capote vs Swansand will return to Broadway in April The Mother Game opposite Jim Parsons.
Lange is certainly no stranger to the Oscars stage. Not only did she win the award for best actress in 1995 Blue sky and Best Supporting Actress in 1983 for Tootsieshe was also nominated for her work in Francis, Earth, Sweet Dreams and Music box. Add to that a prolific career in television, which includes her Emmy-winning roles American Horror Storyas well as her successful stage career, and Lange’s influence on the industry becomes clear.

“It was always an immediate emotional reaction to the role,” she explained of how she decides which projects to take on. “Often I’d read the script and get to a point where I could actually imagine playing it.”

Lange also revealed that one of her favorite films of the year was nominated for Best Picture Anatomy of a Fall. “You’re watching some of the best movies of the last year…my favorite was Anatomy of a Fall“, she said. “How often do we see a movie like that, where the ambiguity of things is never sewn up?”
The 96th Academy Awards, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, air live on ABC on Sunday, March 10, from the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California.
