Jane Seymour's 6 Children: Everything to Know

Fans know her as Dr. Quinn, the medicine woman, a Wild West doctor who cared for her adopted family and the entire town — but off-screen, Jane Seymour cared for her own six children: Jenni, Katherine, Sean, Kalen, John and Kristopher .

“The kids know that I would choose family over any role and anything in my life,” Seymour said The Guardian 2013. “I don’t know if I’m a good mom. I am the best mom I know how to be. I think it’s all about listening to your kids, communicating and caring enough to be involved in their lives.”

Seymour was married and divorced twice before having children. She was first married to Michael Attenborough from 1971 to 1973, and then to Geoffrey Planer from 1978 to 1979. The actor married David Flynn in 1981, and Seymour became stepmother to his daughter Jenna Flynn, born in 1980.

The couple welcomed Katherine Flynn in 1982 and Sean Flynn in 1985. Seymour and Flynn divorced in 1992, and the following year she married James Keach, who already had a son, Kalen Keach, born in 1977. Seymour and Keach had twin sons, John and Kristopher. 1995 and later divorced in 2015.

Although she only gave birth to four of her own children, Seymour said she doesn’t consider her former stepchildren any different than her blood relatives.

“We don’t use the word stepchildren,” she said The Guardian. “We do not differentiate. I am very proud of all my children and spend a lot of time with them. … If I’m a parent of a child, as I was to Kalen and Jenni, I’m incredibly close to those mothers and their stepfathers. Jenna’s sisters from her mother’s next marriage will spend Christmas or New Years with me. My twins refer to Kalen’s two brothers from his mother’s marriage at the time as brothers from another mother.”

Kalen Keach, 56

Kalen Keach was born in 1977 to actor James Keach and his then-wife Holly Collins, who is the sister of folk musician Judy Collins.

As an actor, Kalen appeared in projects such as TV shows Young riders 1991 and 1992 and a TV movie Submerged (2001). Kalen also worked behind the scenes, producing short films Sylvia and Pinston Cafe in 2000 and works as a decorator at Blind dates in 2006.

Jenni Flynn Adams, 44

Jenni Flynn Adams, who is married to Chris Adams and goes by the name Flynn Adams, was born on May 5, 1980. The daughter of David Flynn and his first wife, Lynda Rowen, Adams studied English and political science at Vassar College, according to her LinkedIn page.

Adams is the former director of marketing for BitTorrent, a peer-to-peer file sharing software. In 2016, she founded the cyber security company Inteliqore with actor Brian Austin Green. She works with the company to eradicate cyberattacks using the TRIPP, or Threat Resolution and Incident Prevention Platform, inspired by the cyberattacks she experienced as a woman in technology.

“A human being’s sense of security shouldn’t depend on an algorithm,” Adams told PEOPLE in 2021. “It shouldn’t depend on social media platforms, or even law enforcement for that matter. It should depend on the human being who is experiencing that behavior.”

“During COVID, cybercrime increased by almost 700%, but security protocols increased by 0%. One day we opened our inbox and there were literally thousands of emails from people desperate for our help,” he said. is Green for PEOPLE. “We knew then that we had to accelerate the release of a simple set of tools that anyone could use.”

Katherine Flynn, 42

Katherine Flynn, also called Katie, was born on January 7, 1982 to Seymour and David Flynn. Katie is an actress, director, producer and photographer who has appeared in series such as Office and in movies like Distrust (2018), on which she worked with her mother, according to IMDB.

“When they were younger, I had to make compromises, sometimes about not taking on roles that maybe took me too far away from them,” Seymour said. The Guardian 2013. “They know I love what I do, and they also know we’re all around family, so they’re all around family.”

Katie, who has two daughters Willa and Luna, parents with a similar philosophy. “I became a photographer after becoming a parent and most of my early work is of my children,” she said Vik LA in 2022. “It’s always been important to me to let them be exactly who they are and become who they want to be. Stick to boundaries and love them to death, but otherwise stay out of their way. I love watching them – everything they feel is up their sleeve and changes from moment to moment. Their hearts are truly sincere, and every feeling so fleeting.”

In 2010, Seymour and James Keach founded the Open Hearts Foundation, which “accelerates purpose through its grantmaking and volunteer programs,” according to the organization’s website. The family has long shown their support, such as when they all attended Open Hearts’ 10th anniversary celebration in 2020. Katie later founded her own chapter of the organization.

“Young Hearts, the volunteer branch of the Open Hearts Foundation that I created with two of my friends, also came from the same principles: building community, compassion, and finding those unique parts of ourselves that we can offer in service,” she told Vik LA “When we approach it alone, it seems daunting and overwhelming, but when we collectively come together with our unique skills, passions, interests, that’s where the real difference is.”

Seymour has a close relationship with her grandchildren, and she visited the San Diego Zoo with Will and Luna in August 2023. “All I can say is wow!” she wrote a photo with her two granddaughters. “@sandiegozoo is absolutely amazing. We were blown away by how beautiful and spacious it is.”

In 2022, Seymour visited Disneyland with her family. She posted a photo with her grandchildren on Instagram with the caption, “The happiest Oma in the happiest place in the world!”

She told PEOPLE in 2020 that she was saving her extensive wardrobe for her grandchildren. “I used to be able to keep all my costumes so I have everything in my closet from the 1700s to today,” she said. “I have an amazing selection of clothes from all the movies I’ve been in. … I have quite a bit of history in my wardrobe.”

Sean Michael Flynn, 39

Seymour and David’s son, Sean Michael Flynn, was born on July 30, 1985.

As a child, he appeared in several TV and film projects, including one episode dr. Quinn, the doctor. In 2007, he wrote and directed a short film Numb. He continues to direct — in 2018 he worked on the music video for Ashley Campbell’s song “A New Year” — and is a photographer who has shot magazine covers and exhibited in galleries across the country, according to his website.

Sean also produces clothing under the Soul Capturing label.

John Stacy Keach, 29

Seymour and James Keach’s twin sons, John Stacy Keach and Kristopher Steven Keach, were born on November 30, 1995. John’s middle name is in honor of his dad’s brother, Stacy Keach, and his father, Stacy Keach Sr.

In 2009, Seymour opened up to About.com about her struggles with pregnancy and the in vitro fertilization that led to her twins. The boys were born six weeks early by caesarean section due to complications in Seymour’s pregnancy.

“Johnny turned blue twice when we got home because we really wanted to get home as soon as possible and that was a big mistake,” she told the newspaper at the time. “Then we had to take them both back to the hospital and I had to stay with them overnight, several nights, watching them suck and swallow and breathe.”

The boys were on heart monitors for several months. “If they just squirmed, the heart monitor would go off and someone would have to be right on top of them and immediately make sure they were breathing and didn’t turn blue,” Seymour said. “We were literally on pins and needles for a few months when they were young.”

John appeared in the 2006 film Blind dates with Chris Pine. According to his website, he is a musician and visual artist.

In October 2023, Seymour shared a rare photo of herself with John and his twin brother on Instagram.

“Quality time spent with Kris and Johnny!” she wrote in the caption, which was published alongside a photo of smiling twins standing on either side.

Christopher Steven Keach, 29

Kristopher Steven Keach and his twin brother have always been extremely close. “There’s a bond that twins have that’s unspoken and pretty scary,” Seymour told About.com in 2009.

When the boys were 6, Seymour published a book Two at the same time: having twins In 2002, Seymour and James also published a series of children’s books This one and that one inspired by their twins.

Kris, like most of his siblings, stayed out of the limelight. After graduating from Malibu High School, Kris earned a BA and an MBA from Marymount University of California. He played professional baseball in Arizona after college. Since 2023, he has been working as an investment advisor for Cardinal Capital Management.

In December 2021, Kris married his wife Miso in a ceremony in Malibu, California. The couple had a second ceremony in July 2022 in Seoul, South Korea. For both, Seymour wore traditional Korean hanboks. In an Instagram post of her and Kris, she captioned the photo, “Kris and I in our traditional Korean hanboks! 🥰 The detailing on these garments is simply exceptional.”

In an interview with Hello! magazine, the actor recalled the first ceremony in Malibu: “It was so touching to see them exchange their vows, especially with the influence of their cultures and in the presence of family who traveled from Korea and London, some for the first time ever.”
