Janelle and Christine Brown to Likely Stay ‘Separate’ from Ex-Sister Wives But Meri Isn’t ‘Closing Any Doors’

Janelle and Christine Brown give fans a glimpse of where they stand with their sisters Meri and Robyn Brown.

In an honest conversation with PEOPLE, two Sister wives stars have been talking about their relationship with Meri and Robyn since the breakup of their polygamous marriage to Kody Brown.

“I haven’t really talked to Robyn or Meri much,” admits Christine, 51. “I’ve talked to Meri once, I think, since I split from Kody.”

Although they met at “a few family parties”, the mum-of-six says they gave each other a quick “hello” and simply “nodded”.

“And I thought it was going to be different, but I don’t think it’s going to be any different than that,” Christine shrugs as Janelle, 54, says she hasn’t exchanged words with either Meri, 52, or Robyn, 45. “They’re going to stay separate and I don’t have to to be close to any of them, really.”

According to Janelle, she lacks “history” with her other two sister wives and has never quite developed a “liking for them”.

“And look, we were all part of the family, we all worked hard while we were part of the same family,” she explains. “But now there’s just not much in common.”

On the other hand, Meri is not against reconciliation and a close relationship.

When asked if she is interested in getting back together with Christine and Janelle, the reality star admits that she didn’t know what their relationship would look like, but she is aware that it will take a joint effort.

“It’s going to involve all parties, you know what I mean?” says Mary. “But I don’t close any doors.”

Within 14 months, three of Kody’s marriages fell apart. Christine was the first to leave in November 2021. A year later, in December 2022, it was revealed that he had divorced Janelle. A month later, Meri and Kody’s union was confirmed to have ended after their relationship was platonic and distant for years. Robyn is his only wife left.

Christine found love again, announcing her relationship with David Woolley on Valentine’s Day 2023. The couple tied the knot in October surrounded by friends and family — including Janelle.

That same month, Christine opened up to PEOPLE about the instant connection she felt with David and recalled how she “realized we actually had something really special” after just two dates. Despite this, the reality star knew that she was bringing some baggage into their relationship.

“He has a lot of kids, and I was so worried about coming with all my history of everything, both us and all our kids together,” she explained.

When she finally shared her reality — that wherever she goes, Janelle goes — she said Woolley’s reaction was better than she imagined.

“When I told him, I said, ‘I have a lot of kids and I have a sister wife, and wherever I go, Janelle has to go with me, and all her kids go with me, too. There isn’t just me,’ she recalled. “And he’s like, ‘OK. ALRIGHT.'”
