Taylor Swift Blocks Kanye West’s Album from Reaching No. 1 — Then Seemingly Renames Alleged Kim Kardashian Song for Him

Taylor Swift just quietly edited the title of “thank you aIMee” to “thank You aimEe” for the release of the live version she performed in London in June – and the subtle difference speaks volumes for Swifties.

A few days after the 14-time Grammy winner Department for tortured poets secured a 14th week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 — edging out Ye (aka Kanye West) and Ty Dolla $ign’s joint album Vultures 2 since reaching No. 1 — Swift seemingly slapped the Chicago rapper.

Swift, 34, released a live mash-up of “thank You aimEe” and “Mean,” which she mixed together at her June 22 Eras Tour performance, on Thursday, August 15. The capital letters of the original title were stylized to spell KIM, with the song about a bully speculated to be Kim Kardashian.

Now, the headline — “thank you aimEe” — spells out YE, seemingly marking the latest development in their years-long feud.

The Complete Taylor Swift and Kanye West Feud Timeline

Taylor Swift edited the title of the song ‘thanK you aIMee’ to ‘thank You aimEe’ for the live version.

in Tortured poets song, Swift sings, “All that time you were throwing punches, I was building something / And I can’t forgive the way you make me feel / I screamed ‘F— you, Aimee’ into the night sky, like blood it gushed / But I can’t forget the way you made me heal.”

In addition to Ye interrupting Swift’s acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, the rapper also included these lines in his 2016 song “Famous”: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/Why? I made it b—- famous.” He then claimed that she approved the text. However, Swift’s rep denied she was familiar with the lyrics: “I made it b—- known.” Kardashian supported Ye during that feud.

While Swift never acknowledged who “thank you aIMee” (or “thank You aimEe”) was referring to, listeners were quick to point out that “KIM” is Kardashian, and now “YE” is her ex-husband.

“We love a shady queen.” one person said on X (formerly Twitter), while another wrote“Taylor changing the letters in thanking Aimee from ‘Kim’ to ‘Ye’ is a VERY coded thing for her🐍.”
