Usher is making sure he’s at his best before he kicks off his Past Present Future Tour.
A day after postponing the first show of his highly-anticipated tour, the singer, 45, announced that he will have to postpone two additional shows scheduled for Friday, August 16, and Saturday, August 17, in order to recover from a neck injury.
“Earlier this week I suffered a neck injury while rehearsing to give my fans the best USHER show of all time,” he wrote in a lengthy statement on Instagram on Thursday, August 15.

“I was hoping that with physical therapy and treatment, I would be able to overcome the injury and be ready for the premiere,” he continued. Unfortunately, the injury has not yet healed and the doctors have instructed me not to perform any shows this week.

The eight-time Grammy winner assured his fans that he is on the road to a speedy recovery.

“The good news is that the doctors say that with proper rest and treatment I should be ready to start the tour in Washington DC on August 20,” his statement read. “I love my fans and thank you for your understanding that this injury must heal so that I can give you the 100% excellence that you expect from USHER’s performance and that I will be on stage in your city very soon.”
The statement ended with Usher informing his fans that the three shows, originally scheduled at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, have already been moved to December 9th, December 10th and December 12th.
Usher has announced that he will embark on a career-spanning tour weeks after wrapping up his My Way: The Las Vegas Residency.

A few days later, he released his ninth studio album, Coming homeand performed at the Super Bowl LVIII halftime show.
His upcoming concert film, GUIDE: RANDEVVOUS IN PARISwill be released in approximately 2,000 theaters worldwide between Thursday, September 12th and Sunday, September 15th.

“Paris was a special experience for me as an entertainer and for my fans. I hope that those who were not able to come in person will experience how special it was,” he said in a press release. “As for those of you who were, I hope you will experience the show and see what it takes to get there through another lens.”
