The Brown family is celebrating its first holiday without Garrison Brown, who died suddenly in March.
His mom, Janelle Brown, reflected on how the family keeps Garrison’s memory alive as they gather for the holidays in an emotional Instagram post last week.
“The first of the ‘big’ holidays without you baby,” the Sister wives star, 55, shared alongside a framed photo of Garrison. “We all gathered in NC to celebrate together and keep your photo close.”
“We laughed at your silly sense of humor and told so many stories in your honor,” she continued. “We ate, played and enjoyed each other’s company.”

She noted that family members are “coming home now and normal life resumes tomorrow” before adding: “But I feel you are close.”
The announcement comes nine months after Garrison was found dead at his home in Arizona following an apparent suicide in March. He was 25 years old.
After his death, Janelle and Garrison’s father Kody Brown released a joint statement on their Instagram pages.
“Kody and I are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful baby boy, Robert Garrison Brown,” Janelle wrote in her post. “He was a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him. His loss will leave such a large hole in our lives that it takes our breath away. Please respect our privacy and join us in honoring his memory.”

In September, Janelle paid tribute to Garrison on the six-month anniversary of his death.
“You left 6 months ago today. You come to my photo memories almost every day,” she began with a photo of her son hugging her and kissing her on the cheek. “Sometimes it doesn’t feel like you’re gone. And then I remember that I won’t get a call or a text from you and it all comes rushing back. I know you fought hard, but in the end you just couldn’t stay.”
“I love you very much and I will see you again when my journey is over,” she concluded her post.
Sister wives airs Sundays at 10pm ET on TLC.
