Madhumitha started her career in 2004 with the comedy television show “Lollu Sabha”. She was appreciated on the show and eventually she started getting more comedy roles. In 2012, she shot her first film Oru Kal Oru Kannadi. It was a romantic comedy film in which she starred alongside Hansika Motwani and Udayanidhi Stalin. The film was a huge hit and Madhumisha’s popularity grew. People started calling her “Jangiri” after her character in the movie.

A complaint was lodged against Madhumitha on September 2, 2017. Her neighbor Usha lodged a complaint saying Madhumitha bit her hand. Madhumitha posted a video explaining that Usha was the secretary of the association and she had misused the maintenance funds and was removed from her post. After being taken away, Usha began to cause inconvenience to other community residents. She cut off water and electricity at odd hours. When Madhumita confronted Usha, she started abusing Madhumita and attacked her. Madhumitha said she had to bite Usha’s hand; as she wanted to get away from the attack and she did so in self-defence.
