Jason Kelce Says the New Heights Podcast Audience Appreciates His 'Loving Relationship' with Brother Travis Kelce

During ESPN’s media day on Wednesday, August 28, the retired NFL star turned heads Monday night countdown analyst, 36, discussed how his “loving relationship” with his younger brother Travis made their New heights podcast for success.

“I think what you get in the podcast is, first of all, an organic, loving relationship between two brothers. We’re honest with each other. And it shows,” Jason said. “We have good personalities that I think audiences generally appreciate and want to watch and listen to, I don’t know if I fully agree with that, but they’re there.”

The Kelce brothers premiered the third season of their podcast on Wednesday after signing a three-year, $100 million deal with Amazon podcast studio Wondery.

Speaking about what he believes drives people to get involved, Jason said: “I think by nature we’re very, very open people and I think we share things and obviously live exciting lives that people want to follow. And then all those things help.. . because the more people watch, the more money advertisers spend.”

He plans to incorporate his experience as a podcast host into his new role at ESPN by being his “authentic self.”

“I think I’m going to try to carry the same level of authenticity that I’ve had in my podcast, actually my whole life, when I was a gamer,” he said.

“I think people appreciate that. They know when you’re trying to sell them a used car or not,” Jason continued. “And I think for me that’s the biggest thing that I think will help me be successful, as well as putting in the work and the preparation.”

His new job is something his wife, Kylie Kelce, recently told PEOPLE she’s sure he’ll “excel” at.

“I jokingly say that it pains me that he’s good at everything, and I know I’m biased about it, but I honestly believe that he’s good at everything because even if he’s not good at the beginning or the best at the beginning,” she told PEOPLE.

“She will work, endlessly and tirelessly until she achieves it. So, I have every confidence that she will tackle her new position and excel,” Kylie continued.

The 2024 NFL season begins on Thursday, September 5, with the first Monday Night Football game scheduled for Monday, September 9.
