Jason Kelce Smashes College Football Fan's Phone After They Called Brother Travis a Homophobic Slur

Jason Kelce smashed a Penn State football fan’s phone after his brother, Travis Kelce, called his brother, Travis Kelce, a homophobic slur.

In the now-trending video shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, Nov. 2, the retired Philadelphia Eagles star — who was outside Beaver Stadium in State College, Pa., for the Penn State-Ohio State game — could be seen. walking as football fans surrounded him.

As the person filming raised his fist at Jason, 36, and called out his name for the punch, another man nearby shouted a homophobic slur in the direction of the retired Philadelphia Eagles star.

“Hey, Kelce. How does it feel to have your brother fucking date Taylor Swift?” the man asked, using an insult for Travis, who has been in a relationship with Swift, 34, since 2023.

Seconds later, Jason spun around, grabbed the man’s phone out of his hands and smashed it to the ground.

“It looked like a Penn State student was getting in Kelce’s face for no reason at all,” wrote the first X user who posted the video alongside it. “Wild Scene in State College.”

Additional footage circulated on X shows a close-up of Jason smashing the phone on the asphalt, before picking it up and walking away. The owner of the phone, who was wearing a Penn State hoodie at the time of the incident, could be seen in multiple clips walking behind it and seemingly filming Jason before the altercation took place.

Another scene shared with X, which was reportedly filmed after Jason smashed the man’s phone, shows a hooded Penn State fan walking through the crowd to pick up his phone off the ground. “Give me my phone, bro,” he seemed to say to Jason.

The NFL alum, who first grabbed the device, then stood in front of the man and said, “Who the hell is it now?” because other people seemed to be intervening.

The incident happened while Jason was at Beaver Stadium for a guest appearance on ESPN College game day. The Ohio State Buckeyes ended up winning Saturday’s game, beating the Nittany Lions 20-13.

PEOPLE reached out to a rep for Jason and ESPN, but did not immediately hear back.
