Jason, from Hull, was diagnosed in 2013 and had been 95 per cent paralysed.

His family appeared on the BBC show in 2015.

Jason won over the hearts of the nation as Nick Knowles transformed his house into an accessible home.

His wife Liz yesterday revealed the tragic news on Facebook.

She said: “Jason Liversidge died peacefully at home surrounded by his girls at 22.59 on the 5th August 2023.

“Thank you for being the best husband and father that we could ask for.”

She added: “You will be forever young and remain alive always in our hearts and minds. We love you! Fly free my love.”

In 2020 Jason set a world record when he hit speeds of nearly 67 miles per hour in a custom-built wheelchair while raising money for motor neurone disease research.
