Jason Tartick Marks 35th Birthday with Plea to ‘Please Be Better Than 34’ After Kaitlyn Bristowe Split

Jason Tartick shares his birthday wish for his 35th anniversary.

After his parting from Bachelor star Kaitlyn Bristowe earlier in 2023, the television personality has one simple request for what’s to come.

“Dear 35, you are off to a great start. . . please be better than 34. Love me,” Tartick captioned the Instagram carousel on Monday.

Tartick’s cover photo for the carousel shows the newly married star standing shirtless in a pair of blue swimming trunks.

After dating for several years and getting engaged in May 2021, the former couple broke up in early August.

The Bachelor The Nation duo told fans on Instagram that they had already discussed the breakup with family and close friends, and were taking “time to properly process it ourselves” before telling the world.

“It is with a heavy heart that we have to say that we have decided to end our engagement,” they continued in a joint statement.

A photo accompanying the post shows the two sitting together, smiling as they hugged each other.

Later that month, Tartick revealed how the split had affected him.

“Physically and mentally it sucks,” he said while inspecting the storage unit in an Aug. 23 Instagram video. The video also shows the former couple’s dogs, Ramen and Pinot, watching him move out.

Bristowe, 38, later claimed the way she was portrayed amid their split was unfair, adding that Tartick failed to “protect” her when he shared a video of himself moving out of their home.

“I’m going to regret it. I really lost a friend because of this breakup. Like, it’s just crazy. I knew it was going to be bad. I didn’t know it was going to be this bad from what people were telling me,” she said on her Off the Vine podcast in September, referring to some fans who stood by Tartick after the split.

“He didn’t protect me because I looked like I was taking his dogs away,” she continued.

Tartick and Bristowe met in October 2018 and began dating the following January.

In an October 2019 Instagram post, Bristowe expressed her gratitude to Tartick, recounting how the two first met. She recalled being in Seattle on a podcast and “crying on FaceTime to my dad” when Tartick came on.

He comforted her with a hug and said, “Let’s spend a gentle Tuesday together.” She added that after meeting him, she discovered, “If you spend two seconds with Jason, you realize that his energy is electric and you can’t help but be in a good mood.”
