Jax Taylor Is Filming The Valley Season 2 but Brittany Cartwright 'Wants Nothing to Do with Him' (Source)

Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright are dealing with the aftermath of their breakup.

Since announcing their split earlier this year, the ex Vanderpump Rules stars — who met in 2015 and married in 2019 — will continue to work together, but a reconciliation doesn’t appear to be on the cards, PEOPLE confirmed.

“Jax will be back on set Valley for the 2nd season after finishing his stay in a mental health institution. It was a difficult time for him. He has been receiving treatment for the past 30 days,” a source told PEOPLE exclusively.

The source adds, “Brittany has been supportive of Jax’s decision to seek help for their son’s well-being. However, going forward, she has no interest in anything to do with him.”

Taylor, 45, and Cartwright, 35, have one child together, son Cruz Michael Cauchi, 3. In February, the couple announced their decision to separate. Then Cartwright said on their podcast together When reality hits with Jax and Brittany, “Jax and I spend time apart and I’ve made the decision to move into another home to take some space for my mental health.”

The news of their separation echoed in advance ValleyThe first season of the first season premiered earlier in February. At the premiere, Cartwright revealed to PEOPLE that she felt “a little relieved” since her split from Taylor, adding that she “needs this space” and that it’s “best for [their] family.”

When it comes to filming the second season Valleya source tells PEOPLE, “At this time, the couple is not able to be in the same room together or communicate with each other. Brittany has reached her limit and is staying strong to do what is best for herself and her son. During this time, she has received support from your family and friends.”

An insider reveals that most of their drama will be seen in the upcoming season.

“Like a new season Valley unfolds, a lot of shocking details will surface,” notes the source. “Since nothing was off limits, it could end up being the most unpredictable no-holds-barred season ever to appear on reality television. ”

The source also adds, “There are two sides to every story and Jax has his own points of view that he will address when he returns. His focus is on being amicable co-parents for the sake of his son.”

PEOPLE could not immediately reach reps for Taylor and Cartwright for comment. A representative for Bravo told PEOPLE they could not comment on production details.

In season 1 of Valleyviewers saw Taylor and Cartwright disagree on a number of issues, including trying to have another child.

“As much as I want to have a child, even I don’t know how me and you can bring another child into this world if we don’t fix these things in our relationship, you know what I mean? Because I don’t want this for our future,” Cartwright said in one episode.

She also felt that her husband was no longer “attracted” to her, while Taylor felt that their sports bar, Jax’s Studio City, was “the only thing that keeps Brittany and I together.”

“I just feel like I woke up,” Cartwright said in a confessional after accusing Taylor of putting up a cover for the cameras. “Like, I feel a lot stronger now. I know I’ll be fine, but I know my worth and I know I don’t deserve to be in a relationship like this. What was I thinking staying with him this long?”

In the midst of their split, news broke that Taylor had entered a mental health facility. On August 19, it was confirmed that Taylor would soon be released from the hospital’s treatment center.

“Jax has spent the last 30 days in treatment and will be returning home later this week,” the rep said Valley star confirmed to PEOPLE. – This was an emotional month for him and he is most looking forward to spending time with his son.
