JAYA Slater’s cause of death has been confirmed as his devastated family sent a special plea to his loved ones ahead of his funeral.
The body of the British teenager was returned to the UK last week, and his funeral is due to take place on August 10.

Jay, 19, from Lancashire, died while on holiday in Tenerife with two friends on June 17.
His mum Debbie Duncan, 55, dad Warren, 58, and Jay’s brother Zak, 24, returned home last week from the island where they spent a month searching for Jay.
A post mortem in the UK confirmed that Jay died of traumatic head injuries, consistent with a “fall from a height”.
Spanish police found his body in a deep ravine in the mountains of northern Tenerife after he slipped while trying to get back to his hotel.
The coroner’s report states that his death would have been instantaneous.
Now Jay’s heartbroken family have made an emotional plea to friends and loved ones ahead of his memorial service next weekend.
They asked people to wear blue to the service, instead of the traditional black.
And they suggested people donate to LBT Global, a charity that supports the families of Britons missing abroad, instead of buying flowers.
LBT Global told reporters it would use the funds to help cases like Jay’s.
In an emotional tribute, Jay’s loved ones wrote: “Loving son of Debbie and Warren, beloved brother of Zak and brother-in-law of Jessica, precious grandson of Dawn, June and the late Dougie, beloved nephew of Glen and Katie, dear cousin of Maddie and Tillie and devoted friend to many.
“Jay will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
“Those in attendance are invited to wear something blue in his memory.”
Funeral expenses are to be covered by a GoFundMe page set up by Jay’s friend Lucy Mae Law in the days after he first went missing.
Fundraising has soared to more than £70,000 with more than 5,600 donations.
It reached £60,000 in an outpouring of support in the days after Jay’s body was found and has continued to grow ever since.
Debbie announced in a heartfelt statement via the fundraiser: “We want to give our boy the send off he deserves.”
Web bullies criticized Debbie and other family members for encouraging people to donate to the site even after Jay was found.
In a statement posted on the ‘Get Jay Slater Home’ GoFundMe page, Debbie said: “Hi everyone, thank you for all your kindness, support and condolences in light of the tragic news that Jay’s body has been found.
“We are overwhelmed with sadness and very grateful for your support.”

After Jay left Rhyddings High School, he became an apprentice bricklayer with the PH Build group, a job he thoroughly enjoyed.

Jay’s love for music and dance began at a very young age. He loved attending music festivals and events around the country, and he also loved socializing and meeting new people.

Jay’s body was tragically found on Monday July 15, almost a month after he went missing, at the bottom of a dangerous ravine in Masca.
The apprentice bricklayer traveled to a remote Airbnb in Masca with two men in the early morning hours of June 17.
He partied the night away at Playa de las Americas, almost an hour’s drive away.
In the morning he attempted the 11-hour walk back to his own accommodation, miles away.
Jay made a tragic final phone call to friend Lucy Law saying he was lost, needed water and only had one percent of his phone battery left.
It was the last time Jay, from Oswaldtwistle, Lancshire, was heard from and a massive search mission was launched.
Jay’s family stayed in Santiago del Teide, the capital of the mountain region, during the hunt.
Jay’s dad Warren and brother Zak spent weeks scouring the unforgiving terrain for a breakthrough after the teenager disappeared on June 17.
They spent days retracing his steps alone in the sweltering heat after the Spanish police called off the search.
But his body was finally discovered by a helicopter crew on Monday at the bottom of a ravine near where his cellphone pinged for the last time.
Tributes and flowers poured in in the days after Jay’s body was found.
Debbie left a handwritten note saying: “I miss you so much. You will be forever young and we will miss you forever. I love you so much.”

Sunday, June 16: Jay and his friends party on the last day of the NRG music festival held at the Papagayo nightclub in Playa de la Americas, Tenerife.
June 17 3-6am: Jay goes with Ayub Qassim and another man to a £40-a-night Airbnb 14 miles away in the village of Masca.
7.30am: Jay shares a photo on Snapchat of himself standing in the doorway of an Airbnb.
8.50am: Calls friend Lucy Mae Law and says he’s “lost in the middle of nowhere” with no water, a cut on his leg and one per cent on his phone.
Tuesday, June 18: Friend search area, but no sign of Jay. Local police and mountain rescue teams begin an official search. Jay’s mother Debbie Duncan is flying to Tenerife.
19.-20. June: Spanish police send in drones, dogs and a helicopter, but find no leads. The search moves to Los Cristianos amid a possible sighting, but that has been ruled out and they return to Rural de Teno, near Masca.
June 21: Lancashire Police offer support but are refused.
June 22: Mum Debbie makes an emotional appeal to Jay, saying: “We just need you home.”
June 24: Claims Jay has been seen in Santiago del Teide — close to where he disappeared — and the family believe a grainy CCTV image could be his image.
June 25: Debbie urges her son to come home as more friends fly in and TV detective Mark Williams-Thomas joins the search.
June 29: Police remove Mr Qassim and another man from Airbnb under investigation.
June 30: Spanish police officially suspend the hunt, but say the investigation “remains open.” His family continues the search.
July 15: A helicopter search team found a body near where his phone last pinged. His possessions were discovered next to human remains. Spanish police say this indicates an “accidental fall”.
Today: Tenerife authorities confirm that a body has been found in the mountainous area of the island of Jayevo.
