Taylor Swift Duets with Swifties as They Sing Bon Iver’s Parts of ‘Exile’ at Final Warsaw Eras Tour Show

Taylor Swift turned part of her Eras Tour performance in Poland into a duet!

At the 14-time Grammy winner’s third and final Eras Tour performance in Warsaw on Saturday, August 3, Swift surprised a sold-out crowd by performing a medley Department for tortured poets the composition “The Black Dog” and folklore breakup song “exile” with Bon Iver.

During Swift’s piano medley as part of the secret portion of the show, her fans jumped in to sing Bon Iver singer Justin Vernon’s “exile” verse and back-and-forth because he wasn’t present.

This is the fourth time Swift, 34, has performed “exile” as a surprise song on her Eras tour, having previously performed it in Los Angeles in August 2023, Australia in February and Scotland in June.

In a video taken by a fan, the crowd could be heard screaming as she launched into “Exile” before they started singing the lyrics to Vernon’s first verse.

“I see you standing there baby / With his arms around your body / You’re laughing but the joke ain’t funny at all,” fans sang with Swift. “And it took you five whole minutes / To pack us up and leave me with it / Holding all this love here in the hallway.”

Then, as Swift sang her parts during the chorus, bridge and outro, the Swifties vocally matched Vernon’s parts back and forth.

For the guitar part of the secret songs segment, Swift played a medley Fearless the composition “Danas je bila bajka” and Lover the song “I think he knows.” At one point she said: “In Poland, every day is a fairy tale!”

Kicking off her leg in Warsaw on Thursday night, the concert marked Swift’s first headline concert in Poland, having skipped the country on her last five tours.

During her second appearance in the country on Friday, she wowed the crowd with Polish phrases, telling the stadium “warszawa, witajcie na Eras Tour” (“welcome to the Eras Tour”), “kocham was” (“I love you”), “dziękjię” (” thank you”) and “wszystko dobrze” (which loosely translates to “is everything okay?” or “everything okay?”), among other expressions.

The concert comes after a whirlwind few weeks for the “Cruel Summer” singer, who just toured Germany, playing seven shows in three different cities and debuting live performances of songs from her expansive discography along the way.

In Munich, the last city before leaving for Poland, she even made headlines for thousands of fans who gathered on the slope in front of the concert hall to watch the three and a half hour performance from afar.

“We have people in the park in front of the stadium, thousands of people are listening outside!” Swift told the German audience. “I just feel so incredibly welcome, and we’re going to spend the whole night trying to repay you.”

While the singer spent the summer touring Europe, she was still cheering on Team USA at the Olympics, which began last week. On July 27, NBC debuted a promotional video for Team USA featuring several of its most active athletes alongside live footage of Swift’s performance Reputation press “…Ready for it?” on the Eras Tour.

“I’m so ready to scream at my TV cheering for these athletes 🏅,” Swift wrote, re-sharing the clip on her Instagram Stories and Facebook.

The “All Too Well” singer will play the Eras Tour in Vienna, Austria next week, and will close out the European leg of the tour with five nights in London later in August.
