Main application dates for JEE 2024 till this week

JEE Main 2024: By this week, the National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to announce the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main exam application dates for Session 1. According to media reports, there could likely be a reduction in the syllabus. The decision to revise the JEE Main 2024 syllabus comes after several Class 12 boards rationalized their syllabus during COVID-19.

In the last 3 years CBSE, NCERT as well as several state boards have reduced their syllabus for class 9 to 12 but the syllabus of JEE Mains has not been changed. According to media reports, NTA has consulted all the state boards, the expert committee is expected to come out with the new JEE Main syllabus soon. However, an official update in this regard is still awaited.

JEE 2024 Major Updates

As per NTA Exam Calendar, JEE Main Session 1 will be held from January 24 to February 1 and Session 2 from April 1 to 15, 2024. The JEE Main Application Form link will be hosted on the official website: jeemain.nta .nothing .in. Check out the latest updates here

Will there be changes in JEE Main Syllabus 2024?

According to media updates, NTA Director General Subodh Kumar Singh said that NTA is in discussions with all education boards and the expert committee is currently in the process of finalizing the syllabus based on those consultations. The revised syllabus will be published along with an information bulletin which will be published next week along with the enrollment dates.

Many education boards, such as CBSE and NCERT, have scaled back the curriculum for classes 9 to 12 in response to academic disruptions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The current Year 12 cohort was in Year 9 in 2020 when the streamlining of the curriculum was introduced. Despite this, the syllabus for JEE (Main) and NEET-UG remained unchanged till then.
