Jelly Roll shows its versatility!
On Saturday, August 17, the 39-year-old musician performed an intimate concert at the Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett, New York, for SiriusXM. During the show, he performed well-known songs from his catalog, as well as covers of hits from different genres, which will be enjoyed by subscribers and VIP guests.
The exclusive event started with the introduction of the co-hosts SmartLess podcast, Jason Bateman, Will Arnett and Sean Hayes, who were live taping their upcoming episode with Howard Stern at the venue before the concert.

“Thank you for coming tonight,” Arnett, 54, told the raucous crowd. “We’re so excited right now to be a part of this and here with all of you with SiriusXM. Tonight’s performer is an incredible, incredible performer. He’s a husband, he’s a father, he’s a philanthropist, he’s a Grammy-nominated artist, he’s a CMA winner awards.”

“He’s been playing to sold-out crowds, setting records at music festivals all over the country. We’re so excited to have him tonight. He’s at the very beginning of his tour, The Beautifully Broken Tour, which will be releasing a new album soon,” Hayes, 54, added before Bateman, 55, welcomed the singer to the stage.

Jelly Roll walked in wearing a black t-shirt underneath a black and red ombre button-down shirt. He combined the shirts with black jeans and a red cap that he styled backwards. He opened the concert with the hit single “Halfway to Heaven” from the last studio album, Whitsitt Chapel. Stern, who was also in attendance, could be seen nodding along to the song from the VIP section.
Jelly Roll then performed “Son of the Dirty South”, a song he originally recorded with Brantley Gilbert for the deluxe version of the compilation album Soundtrack for summer 2022.

Next, Jelly Roll sang “Wild Ones” and “Son of a Sinner,” the latter of which is from his 2021 album. Ballads of the broken.
He became emotional during his between-song speeches, at one point telling the crowd, “I make real music for real people with real problems… I believe music can heal people.”

While introducing his latest hit “I Am Not Okay” — which is the first single from his untitled upcoming album — he said: “If one song describes what I do, this is it.”
During the evening, Jelly Roll also performed “Liar” and “Need a Favor”, as well as covers of popular songs “Lose Yourself” by Eminem, “Good Riddance” by Green Day and “(Sittin’ on) the Dock of the Bay” by Otis Redding.
Various celebrities attended the evening event including SmartLess hosts, Stern and his wife Beth, Jimmy Fallon and his wife Nancy, Jon Hamm and his wife Anna Osceola, John McEnroe, Kelly Bensimon and Rosanna Scotto.

After the show, attendees were invited to linger and enjoy a drink offering and barbecue cooking, which included hamburgers, hot dogs and vegetarian options. During this part of the night, Jelly Roll hung out and took photos with fans.

The singer kicks off his aforementioned tour on August 27 in Salt Lake City, with other stops in Portland, Oregon, Los Angeles, Orlando, New York and more.
The concert aired on SiriusXM’s The Highway channel Saturday night and will be available to stream on the SiriusXM app.
