Jemima Rodriguez

Jemima Rodriguez is an Indian cricket player and an all-rounder for the Mumbai women’s cricket team. She is also a member of the Indian women’s cricket team. Jemima started playing cricket at a very young age and at the age of 13 she was selected for the Maharashtra U-19 cricket team, which was her first match.

Jemima Rodriguez was born on Tuesday, September 5, 2000 (age 22 in 2022) in Bhandup, Mumbai. Her zodiac sign is Virgo. She completed her schooling from St. Joseph’s Convent High School, Mumbai, and then pursued a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Rizvi College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Mumbai. Jemima Rodriguez has loved playing cricket and hockey since her childhood. In November 2017, Jemima scored 202 runs off 163 balls in a match against Saurashtra in Aurangabad. She became the second woman to score a double hundred in 50 innings of cricket, the first being Smriti Mandana.

Jemima Rodriguez was selected for the Under-19 state cricket team, where she represented Maharashtra. After playing for the state, Jemima was selected for the Indian team for the three-match ODI series against South Africa in 2018. In February 2018, she made her debut for the Indian women’s team against South Africa in the Women’s Twenty20 International cricket match. In October 2018, she was part of the Indian women’s team for the 2018 ICC Women’s World Twenty20 Championship in the West Indies. After the tournament, the International Cricket Council (ICC) named her as the team’s outstanding player. In October 2018, sports marketing company Baseline Ventures signed Rodriguez to look after her commercial interests. In January 2020, Jemima was named a part of the Indian team for the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

Jemima Rodriguez was born into a Christian family. Her father, Ivan Rodriguez, was her coach and taught her to play since she was a child. Her mother’s name is Lavita Rodriguez, and she has two brothers, Enoch Rodriguez and Eli Rodriguez.

  • Jemima played for Yorkshire Diamonds in Leeds, Yorkshire during the Kia Premier League. She scored 401 runs in the league, becoming the second highest scorer after Daniel Wyatt. She also hit a century off 51 balls against Southern Vipers, becoming the fastest century scorer in the league.
