Jenna Johnson finds the perfect balance between work and motherhood.
on Dancing with the stars At a season 32 cast announcement event on Thursday in New York City, the professional dancer, 29, opened up about finding a balance between dancing and caring for her son Romeo, 8 months.
“It’s an adjustment for sure, but it’s so rewarding,” Johnson says. “I think I’m so excited to be back on the show. And I’m so looking forward to working with Tyson [Beckford] every day was so much fun.”
“And then coming home to my sweet, big baby is just a dream. So I feel like I have the best of both worlds right now. It’s exhausting, but it’s worth it.”

Jenna Johnson reveals baby’s name, shows his face in sweet Instagram photo: ‘Totally in love’
Johnson and husband Val Chmerkovskiy, 37, welcomed their first child together in January. A month later, she shared a photo of her son on Instagram and revealed his name.
“I can’t believe it’s been 4 weeks since I’m totally in love with you. Thank you for opening my heart wide and showing me what unconditional love is,” Johnson captioned the sweet post.
Although the couple has kept the name they chose a secret, they had been picking it for years, Johnson told PEOPLE exclusively in July 2022.
“We’ve actually been picking a name for a boy and a girl for three years now,” Johnson said at the time. “Val actually chose the name for our boy, so we have him.”
After welcoming their son, Johnson and Chmerkovskiy shared updates on their new life as a family of three on their Instagram accounts. In April, Johnson posted an adorable set of photos, simply captioning the post “life lately.”
Johnson began the post by sharing a photo of their son, cutely calling him “Rolly Polly Olly.”
Johnson also posted a video of her husband tattooing what appeared to be their son’s date of birth. She paid tribute to her family of three by including a photo with her son and husband, calling them “my everything”.
