Jennifer Aniston, 55, Gets Candid About Her Relationship with Her Body: 'We Really Love Each Other'

Jennifer Aniston reveals that she has a better relationship with her body than with her sleeping habits.

The 55-year-old actress recently spoke with Allure and admitted that she and her body “really love each other”.

“We have to love our bodies. He’s doing the best he can. It’s been with us since the day we started, so we can’t be too hard on it,” Morning show the star advised. Then she recalled the memory of the older man from the previous set that had sparked the thought.

“I saw him at a few different jobs and he just worked, worked, worked. I say, ‘You’re impressive. I mean, you just never stop.’ And he said, ‘I’m just not letting the old man in,'” she said. “There was something about it.”

“Sure, we’re all going to get old, but how can we progress as we get older?” she asked. “And that is to give your body the attention it deserves. For me personally, I loved my 30s, but my 20s were nothing. I was a nightmare. I didn’t understand exercise until I was in my 30s and 40s.”

The Friends The alum also explained that she approaches aging “with positivity and gratitude.”

“We are still here. What is the alternative? I try not to think about getting old. I try not to think about age. The world will always be there telling us how old you are and what women should do in society when you are this or that,” she added.

Although she has a more relaxed relationship with her body, the Emmy winner admitted, “Sleep and I have a really difficult relationship.”

“I really want to love him and I’m sure he wants to love me, but it’s been hard for us, especially the last 10, 15 years. It’s just hard to turn off the brain, it’s hard to tell the commission to stop talking,” she said.

The actress said she was “really trying to work on it [her] sleep hygiene.”

“I’ve been trying really hard to get into bed during the week at 10pm, turn everything off and then just sit and let the world come crashing down. I’ve been trying to face that challenge on my own. Some days you’re great and on point, and sometimes you’re just not .”

“I’m a big believer in trying not to be hard on yourself because the world right now is so mean and so aggressive and negative. So why would we do that to ourselves?” she asked.

Along with “trying not to be hard” on herself, the actress revealed she tries to combine that with an 80/20 approach. “Eighty percent of healthy living, and then 20 percent is: Go for martinis, go for pizza and burgers, and stay up late with your friends. There is a balance,” she said.
