Jennifer Lawrence’s Breezy Button-Up Shirt Is a Versatile Style for Vacation and Beyond — Get One from $24

My friends and I talked about everything on our recent vacation across the pond: our jobs, recent favorite TV shows, and, of course, Jennifer Lawrence’s style.

So when I checked in bright and early on Monday morning, I was a little excited to see one of the Hunger Games suits the star — and not for the reason you might think. She still made my spidey-style senses tingle with excitement, but of course, she was wearing the one thing I desperately wanted to bring with me on vacation: a long-sleeved button-down shirt.

She paired the white hero piece with some baggy bottoms in the same color, plus colorful ballet flats to tie in the white-on-white look. She also added some eyeshadows and a roomy purse.

Diamond/BACKGROUND

I am many things, but light packer is not one of them. Because of this, I always have to take a few items out of my suitcase before I go out – and my button-down shirt, which was packed and ready to go, was discarded, and I have no idea why.

They don’t take up much space in your suitcase and can easily be layered over tank tops and tank tops or worn as their own pièce de résistance. Besides, everyone abroad was wearing them and it would inevitably go down well if those cool, gloomy days turned sunny and hot.

I always feel like there are a few misconceptions about buckles. But the truth is that they don’t have to be stuffy, expensive or overly handsome. This one from Caslon at Nordstrom Rack, which comes in sizes S to XL, is made from cotton for superior airflow and looks less starched than a heavy Oxford shirt. Consider leaving a few buttons open, like Lawrence, for more breeze.

While I was abroad, I didn’t feel out of place in my Bermuda shorts or long skirts, but I did notice that flowy pants were the most popular type of bottom. Heck, I was even on the hunt for another pair while I was there. Like Lawrence, I’m everywhere in ballet flats and big bags — and I carried both all the time when I was abroad. Despite walking 13,000 to 24,000 steps a day, I still preferred the former over sneakers, while my big bag was full of snacks, chargers and tour guides for a day trip outside the city.
